In Response To: Do animals have blood types??? (susan judt (b))

Yes, Our companion animals do have blood types (dogs 7, cats 2), but they do not map the same way that human blood types map. There is no data available concerning appropriate diets for our companion animals based on blood type, nor any research that I am aware of.

I would disagree with Sharmon as to the universal needs of all dogs and cats. Some dogs have done much better on vegetarian diets and with cooked meats vs raw. I do agree that commercial dog food is POISON, and should not be the staple of any companion animals diet (I live with 3 dogs).

There is no one universal diet for all.

best wishes,

steve shapiro
