I got some information off a website that worked like a charm for me. Cold was gone in 12 hours. Use crystalline ascorbic acid (vitamin C). One level teaspoon equals 4 grams. Take one teaspoon dissolved in a glass of water every two or three hours (don't exceed 20 grams or 5 teaspoons and DON'T take it all at once). Should feel much better the next day.
This normally tastes VERY tart but when I was sick, it actually tasted good so I knew I must need it. Then as I got better, it started tasting too sour again.
Good Luck!
