I don't know about the joint pain, but I suspect if you have unrelenting sugar cravings, you are eating too many carbohydrates (grains, fruits, sugars, high-glycemic veggies like potatoes or sweet potatoes or carrots). Try a couple of meals with just meat and low-glycemic vegetables and see if those cravings don't come right down. It certainly worked immediately for me, and I had had sugar problems for 20 years.
