Spelt berries are the whole, unground kernel of spelt. They look very similar to wheat. If your local health food store won't order them for you (hard to imagine, if you live in the continental USA - they are carried by the major health food distribution companies), try doing a web search for a company that will mail order them to you.
(You'll need a grain grinder and/or a sprouting setup to do anything with them.)
