Hi!
The web site of the ma-yo clinic has several images on nails and gives information on what in the body might not be working correctly with certain conditions of the nails. I don't know the exact site, so you'll have to search for it a bit.
I had some yellow on the outside of my nails and it said that this relates to kidney failure and to go see the doctor immediately, etc. Well, I found an herbal recipe to dissolve kidney stones, did that for about six weeks and no more yellow... That was about a year ago and it has never come back since.
Anyway, you might have something completely different, but those images can give a pretty good idea.
