Coleus forskolii for a vegan Type O

My son who is Type O became a vegan a few months ago. His companions in his diet are healthy cooperative diplomatic individuals (anyone want to bet they are Type A or AB?). My son however was knocked down by a virus that left him beridden for a week, with an aftermath of moderate depression. Since I have already seen Steve Shapiro's and Lois Ventura's hard won wisdom posted here about the long-term consequences to O's on vegetarian diets, I leapt anxiously at the note on p.24 in the Cook Right 4 Your Type which advises that Coleus forskolii can help vegetarian O's. My son has consented to try the stuff if it will help bring him back up out of his doldrums. He is not yet ready to return to his mother's and sister's carnivorous habits.
A brief websearch shows C. forskolii to be involved in cAMP metabolism with applications proposed for hypertension and psoriasis. North American Pharmacal doesn't sell it, and I haven't found a local naturopath, to quote me a typical dosage.

Any info, scientific or anecdotal? (with apologies in advance if this has been covered, as I haven't been keeping up with the BB.)
