Any ADD successes?

My boys have Attention Deficit Disorder (not hyperactive). I believe they are type As because I am AA and their dad is O. Are there any success stories out there? My boys are on anti depressants and amphetamines and I hate it. The are skinny and shrimpy to begin with and these meds decrease their appetities.
