Cold Air Works Wonders

Most doctors and holistic practitioners where we live recommend cold dry air for the true croup cough (seal-like barking). The reason they found this is children would come into the emergency wards in the middle of winter after being in the extremely cold air seemingly cured of the croup cough.
One summer, I spent two nights with my 18 month old sleeping outside which relieved the croup.(we live at a high altitude so the temp. during summer nights is around 40 degrees). I find in the winter, minimum 20 minutes in the cold a few times a day and an hour in the evening and once during the night can give them some relief.
Also look at letting the little guy suck on ice cubes or frozen juice cubes. This allows the throat to relax enough to get some air in their chests.
