Board Technicalities

Hi,

I know that many of you are reporting glitches with the message board, such as deleted threads and posts marked 'read' when you haven't read them yet. You needn't worry about your computer. They are occurring here.

Part of the problem is the volume of messages. Every time a new message gets posted, the software has to re-create the main page. This happens thousands of times per day, as the page is also re-created to add the number of 'views' to each post. I've just finished installing a newer version of the software, which should not only run faster, but should eliminate further errors. Unfortunately, your posts that have been marked as read will stay that way, but the problem should'nt occur again... hopefully.

If all the web-based BB software. This one is by far the best. But, like anything else, it can get tempermental.

Peter

Sometimes you can have bugs occur; for example the rare instance of several people posting together, or a power surge, of whatever.
