The Blood Type Diet Archives Volume 8
It depends on you, and on your type and diet

In Response To: Are supplements, of any kind, necessary? (Michelle)
Congratulations on your compliance level! Your question about supplements is one most of us ask. The answer is: it depends! Some of us came onto our blood type diets very sick, and needed more rebuilding than others. For us, supplements are necessary just to get back up to function.
For others, the foods available in their area aren't fantastic, organic, or plentiful, so they use supplements like GLAs and minerals of some kind to keep themselves supplied with reasonable nutrients.
Also, each type has its built-in tendencies to one condition or another (mucus build-up in A's and AB's, stress-conditions in O's, etc.) that MAY respond well to simple supplementation, teas, or herbal capsules. So, again, it really depends on the individual.
In a perfect world with perfect food, I think we wouldn't need supplements. I see them as a support or a crutch for imperfect times. I also see that they can become a lifestyle--with one formual leading to another three! I like Dr. D's minimal supplement advice. It's calming!
