Get thee to the seaweed section of your local health food store (a.k.a the "macrobiotic" section, sometimes) and buy a package of the seaweed called KOMBU. Do not be put off by the price; one package will last you a while.
The next time you want to cook beans, break off a 1-inch to 2-inch chunk. Rinse it briefly under running water, and then place on the bottom of your cooking pan. I usually slide it in after I've inserted the beans and water. Cook away. You can choose to eat it (very good for you) or toss it after cooking.
The gaseous effects may not be totally eliminated, but they are GREATLY reduced.
