Hi Gerry,
Welcome aboard. Choosing foods by blood type is about achieving total body health. Weight loose can be a pleasant side effect of that phenomenon.
It sounds like you have yo-yo'd your weight several times in the past. Each of those rebounds damages the glandular systems of our bodies. It's going to take time, maybe several months or more, before you start to see weight drop, and it may drop erratically - in steps.
Do not compare yourself to others. You are not anybody else besides yourself.

The O diet is based on meat and vegetables, with beans, fruits, nuts and seeds placing in second, and grains just barely visible on the horizon.
