In Response To: O+ Veggie back and very disappointed in the close mindedness..... (Leslie)
I apologize if my response was disappointing, I did not mean to be closed minded in any way. I just get excited about the book and this plan because like someone said, it takes YEARS to develop some problems from eating the wrong foods. For me it took 12 years. I was not as sick as some others here, but I did have exploratory surgery for whatever my belly pains were and they found *nothing* of course! I was still sick and was missing a lot of work. I am so glad that I took the *plunge*, and don't get me wrong, It WAS hard. Started with Salmon... Will you eat Salmon? My body likes salmon very much, if you don't already eat fish, maybe you'll feel even better by eating that then just cutting out wheat, corn, etc. Also watch out for corn syrup in stuff...it's hiding everywhere! (just wanted to mention it, didn't know if you knew that already-it was a surprise to me). Also watch out, you *may* get sugar cravings, it happens to most of us O's at first (before you can learn what they mean and how to control them) some people say eat protein instead, I love a spoonful of tahini for that purpose...or a small handful of almonds does the trick sometimes.
Everyone here is nice and helpful and will answer all your questions to the best of their ability...Hang in there, I hope you can do it! Best of luck to you and I mean it!!!!!
