In Response To: Eating right while you're sick... (trish)
Just a thought...
Animals don't eat when acutely sick. Humans, too, lose appetite -- but proceed to force themselves to eat "something." This thinking-derived decision is in direct contradiction to the body's feeling-derived decision and overrules the latter by brutal force. Loss of appetite during an acute illness is a direct explicit message from the body: I'm dealing with an emergency situation, can't handle the routine tasks of digestion right now, got no energy to spare, bug off with that sandwich. Flu management strategies: herbal teas, water, fresh juices -- and no food till you're hungry enough to want what's good for you. Works like a charm.
