For diabetics, and those who should not drink coffee nor decaf on BTD .. I found that a cup of tea or glass of water even, with Trehalose Complex is totally acceptable.

I wish Dr D would make individual sugar packets, to take with me, to replace the chemical sugars sold.... How much the world might benefit from such packaging might be astronomical.

Imagine a world with sweetness and it's good for you? Imagine guilt free sweetness. Imagine a life with UPlifting moods every-time we drink it...
Imagine lives made better by having the gunk removed in our brains while indulging in a cup of sweet... Maybe even make it available to mix with cocoa powder.

How much would such packaging cost to start a trend with? let me know i might want to start a new business ........ Acacia (Arabic Gum)
Chili Powder •
Cornstarch
Guarana
Mace
Pepper, Black
Vanilla
all else is ok to use.. so is it time to start using the full measure of all and invest in them> ? !

What spices do you use? and how ///for individual meals//as that is all I cook.

One species in particular, Salacia oblonga, used for thousands of years in Ayurvedic medicine, is increasingly becoming the subject of considerable medical interest because of its potential as an anti-diabetic agent. The herb is a native of India and Sri Lanka and has been used in traditional Indian medicine and Ayurveda successfully for years. The active constituents, salacinol and kotalanol, inhibit alpha-glucosidase and aldose reductase. The inhibition of these substances decreases the breakdown of carbohydrates into absorbable monosaccharides and therefore decreases postprandial (after meal) blood glucose levels. ...

http://www.4yourtype.com/2013_newsletter_v10n03.asp#peter

who is willing to try this? I mean what coud be better than this; Can we report on it?
Salacia oblonga is found in Glycoscia, Dr. D'Adamo's formulation that balances blood sugar and supports insulin level regulation.

Quoted Text

Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors are used to establish greater glycemic control over hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus type 2, particularly with regard to the postprandial hyperglycemia. They may be used in conjunction with an appropriate diabetic diet and exercise, or they may be used in conjunction with other anti-diabetic drugs. Inhibition of these enzyme systems reduces the rate of digestion of complex carbohydrates. Less glucose is absorbed because the carbohydrates are not broken down into the simpler, rapidly assimilable glucose molecules. In diabetic patients, the short-term effect of these drug therapies is to decrease current blood glucose levels: the long term effect is a modest reduction in hemoglobin A1c level.

Oil sugar hunger suppression? Oil is good for me.

Just sharing another 'theory' for when nothing else works...

I find the idea of oil interesting. I never get enough and have no clue on how
to increase my intake,

This 'diet' offers the idea that a spoon of tasteless oil one hour away from
food twice or three times a day will satisfy more then the need for oil. It will
make eating my already smaller portions more tolerable by not asking for more
soon after.

Like always in my trials and tribulations, my ideal is not to go off any food
that is not on my Beneficial or better list, with a few compliant neutrals.

I have been really bad recently .. the last 5 month, eating bread near every
day, and my CHOLESTEROL went from 150 to 256 in the first two month. I will
test today again to see how much more damage I did.

I will give this added oil a try.

I scrolled down to where people wrote about their experimenting and liked what
Bob wrote in 2009.

email me if you think to participate in a trial.

Bobs letter of 2009.
      BobK says:
June 25, 2009 at 10:14 pm
I was introduced to this “diet” / wight control method around Christmas 2005 by my older son (he was 25 at the time). He had run across Dr. Robert’s research, tried it, it worked and he explained to me.

I tried it …went about a week or so with no noticeable effect. Well into week two, I was having one of my favorites lunches (club sandwich and fries) when I found I could NOT even think starting into the second half of the sandwich!

That was the start of my appetite crash; at 6′ 225 lbs, I was a bit on the pudgy side but over the next four to five months I lost about 30 pounds. At 195 my wife said “too skinny”. I dropped from 36″ jeans to 34′s.

I tried to convince my younger son (21 at the time) that this method was amazing & had ended my struggle to easily control my weight. He was very skeptical (despite being a Cal student). He gave it a try and a couple weeks later he called me. He told me that it did indeed work but he quit because it was cutting into his “recreational” eating.

I’ve used it on and off since early 2006…..it works great for me. I don’t dose on a daily basis. Only when I want to drop weight. When on vacation, I eat whatever I please knowing that when I return home I can easily lose the weight. Starting at 225lbs, I’ve been as low as 195 and Thanksgving 2008 to Christmas I edged up to 212 but after the holidays I “dosed up” and got back down to 205.

My setpoint seems pretty stable and I’m super happy with the method.

I’ve used fructose, sucrose, olive oil, safflower oil. With the oils, I hold my nose & glup it. I follow with a warm water chaser.

I’ve read this entire set of responses & in the beginning I got the feeling that the CalorieLab folks either were biased against, didn’t understand or hadn’t tried the method. I’m still not sure of their position or understanding of the method.

Whatever their deal is…I really don’t care, the method works great for me.

To the skeptics that think sugar is evil or bad….use oil. Even so, the sugar dosing he suggests is no worse than a couple cans of sugar soda.

Being an engineer and somewhat of a self experimenter, I used a glucose montior to check my blood sugar rise for the 2T suagr dose vs a typical “bad for you lunch”.

The “bad lunch” was a hot dog on a white bun, pepsi and potato chips. This meal took me from 95 to 152 in about 45 minutes and back to 105 in another 2 hours. The sugar dose ramped up to 132 and back down in about 1.5 hours.

I’m happy , it works but I gotta get back on it since I’ve been eating my way back to 210. My wife is a great cook and the food is just TOO tasty.

If the method doesnt work for you …keep with it, at least three weeks.

Make sure you avoid ANY flavors within an hour (before & after) the dosing. I dose at 10AM & 2PM and if I really want to crash the appetite, 8PM

cheers
Bob

Self medicating- even when not knowing why or how?

I am ever more certain that alcoholics are just self medicating... as are diabetics..or overweight..

I am certain that Manganese and Magnesium and B12 have a lot to do with people being in ongoing pain. Some have pain from muscle cramps, like fibromyalgia, some suffer depression from chronic fatigue, tired all the time, depression from lack of all the above and ALLLLLLLLL might be thyroid, not yet understood, or future diabetes.. in the family history.

NO doubt diet is the key, but some absorption issues might be a big issue also.

Why can I take any kind of magnesium and never have any need to go to the bathroom, while others get diarrhea?

Could it be that the B12 missing- by being suppressed - in the alcoholic or the diabetic is really the reason why we look for other ways to feel better, be it sugar or alcohol?

All this is a result of my having been in the air plain yesterday and having had a attack of neuropathy.. a twitching and near painful not able to sit still, twitching and the like... until I started to eat something.. started to take a pain pill, started to drink quinine.. the neuropathy subsided near instantly.

Could it be that I have LEARNED that food makes me not only full but feels good? could it be that IS WHY WE OVER WEIGHT OR ALCOHOLICS eat or drink more often than do others?

Could it be that some of us just neeeed more then the normal amount of something like B12? Are we really suffering from (maal-absorption) undernourishment? Could it be that NORM for us- MIGHT be that we should be measured on the extreme end of a Guideline/Graph? Could it be that we ought to at least consider that we have needs out of the NORM - more need of this or that? as opposed to average???

Could it be that 80% of the prisons could be emptied of mental patients and horrid criminals if they had been fed what they need?

Should we look at the experiments by Adelle Davis (again) and learn much more from her today with what we learned then.. She might have seen into the future way far ahead and we only now might be able to UNDERTAKE the research with what WE HERE learned food wise.

Could it be that with on analysis of the foods WE HERE do eat, looking at absorption and or the lack of enough nutrients for US HERE, that we could dramatically improve our situation?

I have a brother who suffers greatly from muscle cramping for decades.. could it be that he is not only drinking his 4-6 beer a day to change feelings or self worth, but also to drown the neuropathy? Could we all be suffering from the above examples? WOULD he be better served as seen not as the alcoholic, but a sick undernourished person?

I wonder if we could JOINTLY participate in a listing of (BTD) foods we eat, and compare our food intake and absorption and then ascribe our painful feelings along the side to see what correspondent results might come from it?

Would others here feel like participating? or at least observe along with others?
