I was curious as to whether anyone has had this procedure performed to remove uterine fibroids? I have a 5cm uterine fibroid that is going to be removed using this robotic myomectomy procedure and I'd like to know if anyone has had any experience so that I know what to expect as far as recovery, etc.
I'm also extremely anemic which worries me with the operation, although the Dr. does have me on ferrous sulfate to try and get my hemoglobin up.
Any advice would be much appreciated. :)

In reference to the anemia that you mention, I see you are a Blood Type O like myself, I ate beef liver when I was anemic. Recommended portion, 3X weekly and that did the trick.  :)

Everybody in my family has had to have a hysterectomy except me - some of them were relatively young. I'm not bragging by any means because who knows what may come up, but, also, I am the only one who ate anywhere close to my diet now, and the only one who took vitamins since I was a young teen. I don't know whether that has had anything to do with my good fortune so far or not, but I am very, very thankful for it.

Same here, Spring. All of the women on mom's side had massive fibroids. Mom had her period until 59, when she was tired of the pain and bleeding, and had a hysterectomy! Perhaps the hormone sensitivity is an Explorer thing?
