I am excited about GABA lately. I have been having the most wonderful dreams since I started taking it! Taking it correctly, though, seems to be a must. A very small amount, compared to what many people take, does the job for me.

Tell me more please, Spring.  I noticed you mentioned GABA in relation to this thread so I was wondering if you're taking it for sleep as I would be taking melatonin for sound sleep or is for a stronger body?  I used to
take GABA for anxiety and it was wonderful.  Curious about the dose you're taking and any details
you wouldn't mind sharing about the correct way to take it. :)

Yes, Chloe, you see why I am VERY excited about this GABA!!! And it is doing wonders for certain children too! I am using the chewable variety right now by Natural Factors because I wanted something I could take during the night if I couldn't sleep. HOWEVER, I have found that taking it during the day works as well or better than taking it at night. These tablets contain only 200 mgs., and I have never taken a whole one at a time. Some people take TONS of it, but, like I have said before about many things, it doesn't take much of something most of the time to work for me if it is going to work at all. I am having the most WONDERFUL sleep! And getting enough sleep is so important. Wish I had known about this years ago. I don't even have to take it every day for it to work, either. Next, I am going to buy capsules because these chewables have stuff in them that I don't want unless I don't have a way of getting a capsule down when I need it. I don't do well with capsules unless I have some apple sauce or something similar to get them down.

It is best, according to others, that we take this a while and leave it off a few days, then start taking it again. Others take tons without letup and seem to do all right. For me, I don't really need it every day, but I certainly don't want to be without it when I do need it!!

Like you, too much of some things are overkill and I know if something is
going to work for me or not.  I was given melatonin at the clinic but sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night if it wears off or if it's too light outside from a full moon....generally melatonin
is awesome during winter, but long summer days I'm a bit off kilter.  People who have SAD have
a particular winter pattern...I have some kind of summer SAD and I've had this for at least 40
years...  I do better during winter because being indoors, the light in the house isn't bright enough
to disrupt sleep..but right now, being outdoors later in the afternoon with sun. that bright light totally disrupts my sleep pattern and gives me random anxiety....I have GABA in pill form....took one last night before bed....noticed less aches and pains this AM....so something about GABA, I really need
for balance this time of year, particularly.

Also Tranquility Base is awesome. My Warrior husband lives on it....changed from anxious to almost calm in a few weeks.  Miraculous

Just looked up Tranquility Base and see that it contains GABA.  Maybe I'll try it next time I place an order.  Waiting on the out of stock Glycoscia right now.  I really miss it!

Problem for me with Tranquility Base is the chamonile. It's in the ragweed family and I'm very
allergic to ragweed.  Proceed with caution if ragweed bothers you.

I had forgotten why I couldn't take Tranquility Base but after looking at it just now, before I read your post, Chloe, I remember that I am allergic to Chamomile too. I took it for years without a single problem, but suddenly I started having stomach pain every time I took it. That is a good mix, though, for someone who isn't. Wish I could take it.
