Several times now I have seen what I belive to be metformin pills undigested, - out in full form in the toilette..

Could the morning high sugar numbers be because I do not digest/breakdown the metformin enough???

Man, I would like that answer... also have others seen the same?

I know several people who are diabetics that have higher BS readings in the morning. It is a very complex set of events that occur in the morning hours. Cortisol, glucagon, adrenaline are just some of the hormones that play a role in your sleep/wake cycle that are also involved in blood sugar readings. Have you heard of the dawn phenomonen?

BTW, metformin is broken down by the liver and leaves the body unchanged. It is not broken down into metabolites like most other drugs.

Homeopathic remedies are usually best taken at least 15 minutes before or 30 minutes after food or drinks, so you can let them dissolve slowly in your mouth without interference from food in your mouth.

Drugs, herbs, vitamins, and minerals will vary. Some do best with  food, some best away from food, some don't matter, some interfere with others, etc.
