Plantain weed is ubiquitous to everyone's town, backyard. But it's apparently considered a very healthy herb akin to dandelion.

I don't see it mentioned in any of the BTD literature....

It is on the list of foods people have requested to be added to SWAMI.

Last week I read a great comment - wish I could remember exactly where it was:

"A weed is an herb that you haven't figured out where to put or how to use"

Jennihul, by "akin to dandelion" do you mean useful? From what I've read, it is indeed useful, but for different treatments than dandelion.

Makes us think about the notion of "weeds", doesn't it  ;)

Came home this morning to find an old woman digging wild garlic and dandelions out of my front yard. When I got out of the car, she looked "busted", so I just smiled and said "... the plantains should be up in a week or two."

Is that true? If I lived in Maryland could have been me. BD and I filled in on a job, just after a rain, anyway the puffballs were all over their front yard, and it is back on a side road, BD looked so happy with a box full!

The seeds from plantains is very high in Bvit. (forgotten which) the leaves are great for bee stings, and also skin. I need to get busy, got some wildcrafting to do!
