Hi all,
I am a professional athlete and need some expert knowledge.
Ok so I'm blood type O non secretor.
I have just invested in this supplement brand called Mannatech!
I currently use ambrotose advanced, AO ambrotose and Empact sports drink.

Now it's main core ingredient is aloe Vera (inner leaf juice) and Dadamo doesn't recommend this to type O's.
I have heard amazing recovery stories from cancers and digestive problems from people who have taken these supplements. Quite miracle stories may I add.

What should I do? Do I keep taking this supplement, and is this helping me perform to my peak.I have been on the stuff for about a month now. Or should I just go on my gut instincts about the products?

Cheers

What are your gut instincts?

I don't know what is in the products. I do know that there is an associate sales program that looks like a multi-level marketing program.

That tends to indicate it is more about sales, than the product.

I have not reviewed the ingredients and have no intention to do so.

We can't tell you what to do.  We can only point you to what Dr. D. says about ingredients based on how they affect individuals.  It is up to the individual to either take the advice and use the knowledge or ignore it and walk away.  Only you know the conditions under which you are operating, etc.

Yes, aloe vera juice can have remarkable healing qualities, especially for people with type A blood (who, incidentally, have a higher rate of cancer than type O individuals.)

That doesn't make aloe vera a good choice for an O.

If you think that this product is improving your athletic performance, then in probably DOES contain something that your body needs, that you weren't getting enough of before you started the product. It could be as simple as "getting enough protein in an easy-to-drink form around the time of the workout." It could be that you're using it to replace another brand of "protein shake" that contained ingredients that were even worse for you. Or maybe in the long list of ingredients in this product, there's one or two that are very good for you, and you could obtain those nutrients in a different forml

Thanks for your posts and recommendations!

I can be more specific about ingredients as some ingredients I am unaware if they are good/bad for type O's.

The Ambrotose advanced supplement contains:
Each 2g (approx 3/4 tsp.) contains: Beta carotene, 560 μg; [acacia, 100mg; Xanthomona campestris gum powder, 100mg; tragacanth, 70mg; ghatti gum
Proprietary plant polysaccharide blend* (Aloe vera inner leaf juice dry, 106mg [equivalent to fresh inner leaf juice, 20g]; Arabinogalactan - Larix, 988mg; Tragacanth, 200mg; ghatti gum, 200mg; glucosamine hydrochloride, 200mg; Aloe vera inner leaf juice extract dry concentrate, 100mg [equivalent to inner leaf juice juice, 39g], Undaria pinnatifida blade and stem powder , 30mg)
also contains rice starch

The sports drink EM.PACT I have been taking during training and competition I have felt an increase in stamina and endurance outlasting 2hours + of high intensity exercise. I usually hit the wall after 2hrs but this seems to help. quote  "EM•PACT has been clinically shown to help increase oxygen uptake capacity" from trying this product I believe it does increase my oxygen uptake.

EM.PACT ingredients:
Each 14 g (one level 15 mL tablespoon) contains: Proprietary plant polysaccharide blend* (Aloe barbadensis inner leaf juice dry, tragacanth, ghatti gum), fructose, creatine monohydrate, calcium citrate hydrate, magnesium aspartate, magnesium gluconate, potassium aspartate, potassium gluconate, choline bitartrate, lecithin. Also contains anhydrous citric acid, caprylic/capric
triglyceride, lemon oil, colloidal anhydrous silica.

would be great to hear your thoughts on the ingredients used.

thanks for all your help everyone :)

Citric Acid can be made from corn, an avoid for O's.  And aloe is an avoid generally for O's.  You could run your SWAMI and see what it gives you.  And then try changing your diet according to SWAMI recommendations, and see what happens.  Also try not taking the Mannatech once you decide to adjust your diet.  If you still think Mannatech does more for you than your SWAMI diet, then you can make your choice.
