I am going crazy- my urge to pee during the nigh seem to have worsening.

Lately I seem to need to pee more during the night at least at 23 - 24 and sometimes also around 1 or 2 o clock .
I get up at 7.30 latest and go to bed 22 sleep around 22.30

What I already know is

1) my bladder is slightly smaller that the average woman
2) I don´t have type 2 diabetes
3) I don´t have an infection
3) I try to avoid drinking late at night but I d tend to drink the majority of my liquid from 12- bedtime  :-/
I do try to change that pattern at the moment- but it is hard since I am more thirsty in that period.
4) I do have a fibrom that makes my uterus bigger = might do some pressure  :-/-but then it should bother my during the day.

I try to drink my herbal goodnight tea ( chamomile mostly) - not much later that 21 - I go to bed by 22- I would hate to skip that. Any relaxing teas that make you pee less ?

However I sleep upstairs and I am getting crazy that I have to get up and go down at least 1 -sometimes 3 x during the night ?

Any thoughts ? ??) is it age ?

THis happened to me a few months ago and lasted quite a few weeks but stopped.  And the only thing
I consciously changed was not drinking fluids after dinner. I take whatever supplements I need to take
with dinner and that's it for my night's liquid.  I'm not thirsty by nature....so I really have to consciously
remind myself to drink fluids during the day.

Could there be pressure on your bladder from a large dinner you didn't eliminate?  Sometimes I can
feel when this pressure comes from a full colon rather than anything else....and if you're adding extra
liquids at night, well, perhaps your colon is just too heavy  from foods that contained fiber and swelling in your colon.....which then might be putting pressure on your bladder.

Only suggestion I would make is to be sure to drink most of your daily liquid much earlier in the day so you're not getting into bed with a lot of fluid your body wants to eliminate.

Have you changed anything else?  Foods you eat for dinner?  A different amount of fiber intake?  Is
your liquid always water or is it tea, coffee, wine?  Some foods are diuretics....mushrooms, for example.
On nights I eat mushrooms, I'm peeing a lot more.  

Calcium, magnesium, vitamin C and Vitamin B6 are Diuretic it but vitamin B6 is more diuretic, it supports the nervous system, breaks down glucose and starches for the absorption of fats and proteins. Vitamin B6 helps ease water retention and also aids in balancing sodium and potassium levels, both of which are needed for optimal fluid retention. Sources of vitamin b6 are yellow fin tuna, bananas, salmon and chicken breast.

You might try to get more of your liquids in earlier in the day. At least a few hours before bedtime if possible.

Not sure if or how much other things like bladder exercises might help. If you have the feeling it just doesn't matter how full you actually are.

Keep a container in your room. Maybe use it for the first 'peeing' & then go downstairs for the 2nd one!  At least stairs are good exercise!

Tea makes me 'go' more, but maybe the benefit of the tea is more important than the inconveniece.

Well I go first ting in the morning ;)

Yes I am trying to change that habit

I would say more fibres due to more veggies and a bit less grains

Well I am very much a habit person ;D
I drink 1 cup  black tea in the morning
maybe a glass of water during midmorning
1 cup coffee with milk midmorning
1 glas water - sometimes 2 for lunch
cup of green tea in afternoon
sometimes water as well.
1-2 large glasses water with dinner ( 1-2 a week 1-2 glass red wine)
1 cup herbal tea

I rarely drink things like juice, milk etc

I take a multivitamin with quite a lot b vitamins, a D vitamin, magnesium  CLO and sometimes c-vitamin.

Maybe I should change habits with both drinks and supplements.

Actually I am considering that
- better than break a leg because one is so sleepy and have to walk all the way down the stairs  ;)

but it is hard wen you are not that thirsty before lunch and very thirsty from 16- 21  :-/
But I do try to change that pattern.

I forgot

Would changing from pure danish clean water  ;D to water with salt and lemon juice be good ?
Would it be less peeing ?

I had this happen to me a few years back.  I was up peeing probably around 10 times a night.  Finally the doc's determined i had interstitial cystitis (inflammation of the bladder).  I don't know if there is a test that can be done, they only determined it after i did my own investigation.  Apparently there is not much known about it.  I actually did well on taking olive leaf extract i believe that i got from a health tv show that i called.  In fact the doc's put me on a medicine for a year for something else that they thought it was, i called the health show and they said that it sounded like IC.  After taking the supp's the show sent me for around a month my condition improved by probably 90%, this was after going to the doc's for a year without any improvement.  Apparently this condition can not be cured only managed, i rarely have an attack anymore.  It's a very individual condition; stress, acidy foods, etc... usually cause a flare-up for me.

I am quite sure I don´t have that.

After all I only get up 1 or 2  I do sleep from midnight to 7- 7.30 most night :)

But I did realize that I tend to drink eat a lot of diuretics drinks, veggies and fruit.
So I guess It is more habit change

Still  what can I safe drink( herbaltea?  2 hrs before bedtime

I'm now taking almost all of my supplements in the morning...or else dividing them up so they're
with breakfast and lunch....and only what I absolutely have to take at night, I will.....magnesium,
other minerals....but they're taken at dinner time with whatever liquid it takes to get them down.

And I tend to eat a light dinner.  But this is what is recommended for blood type A....the big breakfast, adequate lunch and lighter dinner.  So, by the end of the day, my body isn't getting fuel for activity nor is it getting a lot of diuretic foods or beverages which I think might increase
a cleansing process.

You might have to experiment with your supplements....increase the size of your breakfast and lunch....and pay attention to what you drink earlier in the day vs what you drink at night.

Our bladders can only hold what they can hold....but I've really felt that a lot of fiber at dinner plus liquid is going to overfill my gut and put pressure on my bladder.  This is why I eat a lot of fiber for breakfast and lunch....drink plenty of fluids during the day so the fiber can expand, but at dinner....I have salad, protein and veggies...and I can sleep through the night.

I can relate to the frequent urination issue.  My entire family is "blessed" with small bladders and it is all but unheard of for any of us to go much more than 2 hours without having to pee.  I consume at least half of my daily liquid in the mornings, so I'm running back and forth to the bathroom about every half hour.  

You mention drinking a lot of cups and glasses of liquids, but not the size of those containers.  Optimum water/tea intake per day for a healthy person is 3.8 liters (a gallon in the US).  If you keep track of the amount you are drinking and the times of day, it should make it easier for you to change the time of day for the bulk of your fluid intake.  

And, if possible and appropriate, take supplements earlier in the day, as early as you can and "wash them down" with a large glass of water. It is amazing how much clear liquid you can consume with your pills!  (In my case it is necessary because I have a swallowing problem and it takes a lot to wash down even a couple pills.)

Perhaps these ideas might be of some small help.

I disagree about the 3,8 liter  for all
- that is far too much for me in wintertime
but might be ok in summer :)
I eat a diet with lots of hidden liquid btw

Glasses; 300 ml  and my teacups aprox 400 ml so on a regular day I would get aprox

1,8 l water
1,2 l tea, herbal tea
= 3 liter

Well Today I try to take most of my supplement morning and lunch and drink most of my liquid before afternoon  ;D

I did sleep better yesterday- only got up at midnight and slep 7,5 hrs after that.

Why not try and reduce how much water you put in your tea?  This will enable you to get the benefit of the chamomile tea but not with all the fluid.  Also, Passionflower is a very good alternative.

Kiwi, your suggestion is great...Getting benefits and flavor from herbal teas without a whole lot of water....I never thought to do that.  Passionflower is a great option.  Thanks for sharing :)

No idea :)

Passion flower - have to look that up sounds good.

But on day /night 2
I switched most of my supplements to lunch( only left magnesium
- and have changed drinking habits- had most of my drinks before 16- only 2 glasses of water and small cup of herbal tea

I slept from 23 to 8  :o

I can relate.  I get up every 2-4 hours during the night to pee.  I just figured it was old age, my goofy schedule & too much liquid.

Anything that might alter your sleep pattern might be the cause.  After I got a mask for sleep apnea, I no longer had to get up to pee three times each night.

Well I had another fine night
- i forgot to take my supplements at lunch time so I took them around 16- I slept ok- but I had moved out of bedroom - due to paint smell-so I slept on the floor in my office to my dogs delight  ::)
so my sleep was not as deep as normally so I wok up at 5 and had to stumble downstairs ;)

an overactive bladder can be managed by an overactive zns ;) ;D... so far some hoops and valerian should do the trick ;) ... I know this as well... but todays I only need to go 3-4 times a night and lucky bum that I'm... WC is justamente 3 steps far ;) ;D... and no steps for me either ;) ...(smarty)(hehe) :X :D  wish you quickest recovery... :K)
