was curious about any explorer weight loss tips.

I have experimented and btd always worked for me, so going back to my diet. any tips as I'm pretty overweight and I frequently suffer from workout burnout

According to Dr. D.(pg.155 of GTD book), eating the foods for Explorer indicated with a diamond and making sure the liver and bile ducts stay clean by eating plant foods that contain polysaccharide nutrients that support these cells.

Being part gatherer, as well as part explorer, I have trouble with lots of the starches and most of the list of plant foods are the ones "...that contain polysaccharides (which) are vegetables, fruits, rice beans, nuts, potatoes, corn, flax seed and psyllium husk..." Apart from a few non starchy vegetables and even fewer very low glycemic fruits, my choice of foods that contain polysaccharide nutrients is extremely limited... ::)
In fact I have huge trouble with any: monosaccharides, disaccharides, and polysaccharides!! Might as well call them *starcharides*

i am mostly a combo between explorer and nomad. not sure what that mean, hehe

but I do go through times when I eat to much and need lots of rest and times where I need lots of aggressive exercise.

My weight remains stable with following SWAMI and being very compliant. I have an infrared sauna most days that greatly energizes me and my whole day is more pleasant as a result. I enjoy going for brisk walks and using a rowing machine now that my adrenals are healing. If experiencing adrenal exhaustion, exercising is like floggings a dead horse and is not beneficial.

My understanding is that we explorers do not have much wiggle room for deviating from what we should be eating. To help facilitate gut healing, for a six month period I took 4 Polyflora, 4 Intrinsia and 4 Deflect and that helped balance things out. I stick to two of each daily since then.

SWAMI is the best thing that our household has ever done. We have several friends on board as well and it is rewarding to see everyone's vastly improved health.

I have stayed the same weight for years on geno and now swami. if I took the time to get up a sweat I would probably lose weight. I won't right now of course but then theroeticaly I have lost 10lb of fat while replaceing it with aprox 15 to 18 lb of baby. the scales say I have gained 5lb, since I am defanatly not the same shape I started baby must have eaten my fat and taken it's place :D
don't think this will work for everyone though ;)

Well, according to Dr. D., you need to do what you can do to feed the liver and bile ducts...

BD love that sense of humour!! I rofl when I read that, especially the line "the baby must have eaten my fat"
ABJoe - maybe the Gatherer part of me is responsible for the fat and not the Explorer part?!

It is still your body...  You need to find why you aren't digesting / detoxing some waste or why your metabolism isn't active enough to burn the energy so it doesn't get stored.  These are the reasons that the body gains fat.

Do you exercise regularly? enough?
