I don't know where you read or heard that coconut oil is good for everyone, but I do know for doggone sure that it was not on this web site or in anything that Dr. D'adamo has written!

If you want true health, Dr. D'adamo is in my mind the foremost expert on eating to be healthy.  All the others out there may know one or two things, but I've seen tons and tons of bad and dangerous information "out there".

If you concentrate on beneficials and super beneficials you will be amazed at how well you feel!  When your personal food list says to avoid something, do that. If you eat foods that are listed as avoids for YOU, you will damage your health.

A lot of people follow their personalized food and lifestyle plan only part way.  I liken doing that to going out in the snow with one foot in a boot and one foot in only a sock.

I don't do well at all with coconut oil, either internally or topically and also have heaps of trouble with legumes/beans!!! imo my health is way worse if I do consume them... ::)
Nuts are easier to digest if first soaked and dried apparently?!

My DD is an Explorer - coconut oil is a total avoid for her per SWAMI.

DD eats lots of black and pinto beans.  She eats nuts on things, but not by themselves - just a personal taste thing...

beans hurt the living c**p out of me no matter how careful I am and soaking them, etc etc

coconut oil, I think messes with my system

the sunflower seed butter seems to do ok though

I don’t do well with coconut, beans or legumes.

An Explorer needs Swami.  We are all the blood types.  We are the leftovers.

Hey - HEY - "I" am not a leftover.;) That makes me sound like someone's unwanted Tuna Casserole from a Tupperware Party. We are UNIQUE. We are the turning point for all the Blood Types and if Nonnies - the Litmus Paper for chemical sensitivities that "all secretors" should be avoiding too for better health. (sunny) REJOICE IN BEING AN EXPLORER!

cos somewhere out there back in time, 2 Explorers gave birth the FIRST B BLOOD TYPE......(ha!) And it was the cutest baby, ever. (until blood type AB)

Hey Brenna - my first year I couldn't even do topical coconut oil (as Dr. D. explains we could), but now I can. I don't do it a whole lot because I don't like smelling like a coconut going about my day. I actually get coconut meat on my SWAMI as a "black dot." Hear me gloat!

The beans - hey my friend, you will be an individual. I have a couple varieties of white beans on my SWAMI that are "diamonds" for me that still make me feel like I am catching the flu when I try to eat them. My other beans are fine.

Same goes for white rice too, although it's a "diamond". Fact is, either through glycemic overload, or just plain JUNKY strains of beans or rices, I can't eat the more modern versions or the versions that have "no color" in them to begin with. They must lack nutrients.

it's a pity the Toronto Test of the BTD wasn't conducted correctly - if it was we could have a whole team of researchers moving along properly to catalogue all the wonderful twists and turns individuals have with TODAY'S foods as opposed to foods grown from "heirloom seeds."

I do fine on my nuts, because they are an ancient product as yet unmodified by Monsanto.

I just experimented today. i do better with red kideny beans than i do black beans. black beans just ruin my stomach soooo bad. omg.

and just looking at my swami again, kidney beans on my beneficial list and black beans are on my avoid list.

no wonder. hehe. and coconut oil is a clear avoid, no black dot

huh. no wonder. think I'll be sticking to swami from now on.  ;D

I only seem to do well on Northern beans  (no, ahem, Tooting) and on walnuts and pecans for nuts.  Swami is right, and Dr. D. Rocks.   :)

It's the exact opposite for me, beanwise.  This is one area that SWAMI really shines!
