Hi all,

I've been doing Yoga for about 5 years on and off and I really enjoy it.

However my Swami tells me that the best exercise for Explorers is basically any type of exercise as long as it makes them sweat.

Now depending on what my yoga teacher will do in the class, I usually do break a bit of sweat but not necessarily.

Also Yoga is not listed as the sports types in my Swami.

What do you think? Is Yoga maybe not so effective for Explorers?

Thanks for  your help in advance.

I am a teacher or an explorer...and I do the exercises for both.

I seem to need a balance of the various activities because if I only do yoga for one week, I really feel like I need to burst out in running/jumping/dancing!
If I do all aerobics and weights for one week I feel my body craving the peaceful intensity of stretching/meditating/breathing of regular yoga.
So, I alternate with yoga one day, weights and cardio/dancing the next.
The one activity I do anytime is brisk walking. ;)

Try hot yoga. There seems to be no shortage of Explorers that are straight dogmatic about it being the end all... for everyone. But I suspect it does wonders for them. They usually look great. I'm jealous of the ability to actively improve yourself.

do not forget explorers can be all BTs

read about your individuality and adapt what is right for you

until you run a swami, try personalizing your lifestyle according to physiology

Supposed to be great for my type, but I hate it with a passion.  It actually causes me stress.  Same goes for 9 holes of golf, supposed to be good for my type, but I hate the stress of golf.  Simply taking a walk out in nature is much more agreeable for me.

Cajun,
interestingly I feel the same as you.
I am also a blend of Teacher/Explorer.

Hi Lin!
Good to see you posting! :)
If I remember correctly, we have other things in common also.

It is funny that I can go weeks following my teacher swami when I suddenly feel the urge to eat more meat(turkey, fish or chicken)as my explorer swami suggests.
My teacher swami says to eat 7 eggs a week... :P couldn't stomach that, but every few months I want scrambled eggs and find them very satisfying...my explorer swami says black dot on chicken eggs. The 2 swamis are more alike than different with many core/base foods (veggies, fruits, grains) switching from neutral to bene or vice versa.
Life is interesting when you wake up and wonder if it is a day for "exploring" or "teaching".... ;D

What do you mean you have 2 SWAMIs?

ebla,

I have a swami. I "ran it" with the ancestry box marked southern European and it said my genotype was teacher.  I then "ran it" again but changed the box to western European and it said I was an explorer.
The problem is I am both southern and western Euro ancestry so I have printed out the diet for bothand compared them. They are similar...obviously because it is my unique profile...so I try to eat the beneficials from each one. The avoids are almost the same on each so ...it is all good. ;)
