This has been a very challenging long month :-/ My grown son visited at christmas, I knew he had been infected with scabies but had been treating himself with cream from the pharmacy as well as neem from the health food store, as well as washing clothes in borax at boil-wash. Well, the entire family also became infected so all my energy has been invested in getting rid of this nightmare ::)

Slowly but surely we are getting through it having used a cupboard-full of everything both natural & chemical!! ( Lyclear,neem,tea-tree,clove oil, diatomaceous earth, sulphur..)
Has anyone used Grapefruit Seed Extract on the skin for this condition? It's about the only thing I haven't yet tried but going to buy some today as I'm tiring of being covered in Diatomaceous Earth/mixed with oil! ..The house & bedding is also covered in the stuff!

On the subject of Diatomaceous Earth..has anyone used it as a food supplement, as colon cleanser ? I have a whole kilo of the Food Grade as well as another of pest grade..

I had to google scabies to see what it was.  EarthClinic has comments from people who have found success
using natural solutions.

Hoping this helps.

I had that once. I treated all of us on the same night, and covered the upholstered furniture with plastic for a few days, and washed all the sheets in hot water with bleach before and after "treatment day." My biggest concern at the time was the fact that I was breastfeeding at the time- I ended up covering almost all of my body except that I left one breast un-treated so I  could nurse him without fear of him ingesting the topical medication in the process.

We lucked out that the bugs responded to the prescription medicine, and we only had to do this once. If it hadn't all gone away, I would have researched natural treatments rather than using toxic drugs a second time.

We use Diatomaceous Earth for flea control in our home on our 4 cats and puppy. When I researched it and read the reviews on the particular product we purchased, I remember it being mentioned that some consumed it internally for detox purposes. Everything I've read says it is completely non-toxic to humans and is only harmful to bugs and parasites, though I've never tried it myself for detoxification. The only caution mentioned was irritation and breathing problems for asthma sufferers as the DE is very dusty when rubbed on liberally.

Hope this helps.

Many thanks for all your suggestions  :)
I have researched this thoroughly & found lots of good suggestions on earthclinic, but as they are just individual's experiences and not 'definitive' cures,I was hoping perhaps that someone with expertise in this area would throw in their view. I think different people respond differently to the infection,and treatments depending on severity as well as their own immunity is pretty robust but this infection is even more resilient ??)
