8 Tips to Avoid The Flu

New in Personalized Living Webzine:

Quoted Text
We have been receiving a lot of calls expressing concern about this year’s strain of the flu. Dr. D’Adamo is recommending the following to stay flu-free this season:

Drink 12-16 oz. of water daily.

Isn't this only a quarter of the recommended quantity?  :-/

Dr. D also recommends A, AB and O's should get 2 flu shots per season ( at least a month apart).

Each year I research the ingredients in the flu shots - I read the manufacturers complete information sheet.  Ingredients are hard to find but they are there if you look far enough.  3 years ago they contained aspartame.  The next year they contained polypropylene glycol.  This year one out of the 2 manufacturers vaccines contains formaldehyde.

NO WAY am I going to let anyone inject that poisonous stuff in my body!!!!!

Elderberry concentrate, ARA 6 and Proberry serve us very well for flu prevention.

Formaldehyde. – YUCK.  I remember decades ago wondering why some shampoos & conditioners bothered me & others didn’t. The common ingredient was formaldehyde.

I saw my doctor's nurse practitioner recently (a vegetarian AB as it turns out, Indian and   ;)  to Ayurvedic  medicine!) and asked her if she knew of this season's bug. She'd heard nothing alarming about it's virulence, and their office hadn't seen one case yet.

I asked her if she thought the vaccine was necessary for me, and to my complete surprise she said that she'd never gotten one in her lifetime, has never had the flu, and doesn't believe it improves the odds in healthy individuals anyway (that being a caveat). Given her repeated exposure over the years, this seems a strong argument for building upon our bodies natural immune functioning.

Is that "a total of 12-16 ounces of water" or "twelve glasses of water, 16 ounces each"?

Noooooo....  I was curious about her thoughts on it for her patients, and just how much she advocated for "our" health care approach. Earlier, we had discussed my remarkable improvements, and that's when I discovered she was AB with an Ayurvedic background. It was she, not my doctor, who OK'd dropping all my meds, and I wondered if she extended her integrative approach to the rest of her patients.

Not happening.  The only time my dad ever got a flu shot was at the age of 87 when his doctor pressured him into it....He knew instinctively this was all wrong for him but he was tired of
declining his doctor's advice........he never had the flu in his life.
Three weeks after the shot, he got the flu....got a raging infection at the injection site...high fever, wound up in the hospital, on abx pump for many weeks....never really got over the assault of that shot or how hard the flu hit him... and he died within 3 months.... I don't trust flu shots...Never had the flu either.  WIll take my chances. Even if Dr. D recommends it, not going to happen!

The last time I had any vaccination, Jack was a few months old. The injection site got red, hard, and swollen. It hurt for a while, though I now can't remember if it was weeks or only days. A few months later, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I'm still not sure if the DT vaccine had anything to do with the fibromyalgia or not, and there's no way to ever know for certain. I don't intend to ever get another vaccine, ever. I'm much more scared of the chemicals and drugs in a vaccine than I am of what any germ can do to me.

I've never had a flu shot as an older teen or adult.  I've had flu-like symptoms perhaps just three times in that 30-35 year time span.

You would think, then, that the referenced article would be titled "9 Tips to Avoid The Flu," and that it would mention flu shots.  Why do you suppose it doesn't?

I have had flu plenty of times in years past, but not in the recent past years.  Fever, chills, sore throat, achy body.  About 20 years ago, I discovered that the homeopathic remedies oscillococcinum and/or gelsemium nearly always kick it out.
Twice, when I submitted to the flu shots, I became far more sick than I ever did without the shot. I have wondered if this was due to the "additives" in the vaccines or an autoimmune response by my body. Or both.

I know that people take oscillococcinum every Winter as prophylaxis. I used to take "influgip" by the same company (Boiron). There's a similar remedy "influheel" by Heel.

btw.. we enforced a law this year here in Switzerland that all peeps need to be vaccined in case of a pandemy...anyhow if this would show up as a hoax or not... obligation... but at the same time they said: if somebody isn't willing...we won't be forced... ok lets' see when forces pop in then... :o :-/ :P >:(

Chloe, that is heart-rending!
I am so suspicious of the various kinds of shots.  I guess you may know about that NYC wants to have mandatory flu shots for kids going to preschool!  Wow!

I am a senior & we are bombarded with advertising to get the flu shot. I am afraid the gov't will mandate it for some groups. Then what do we do?

I would hope they would leave us alone, especially the healthy folks who don't get the flu.  If we do, we know how to handle it! Thank you.

I thought that type Bs got the flu more easily than the others!

In ER4YT, p. 284, Dr. D says:  "Influenza, ..., also strikes Type O and Type B in preference to Type A and Type AB."

So I think the recommendations for shots are all off.

DS, a B, insisted on getting a flu shot this year, and I didn't mind taking him and paying for it.  But I didn't get one myself.

I'm now 64 and I've had the flu in the past, which was really bad.  I got the flu shot a couple of years ago, two years, as it was recommended for 'the elderly'.  I can't remember if I got one last year, possibly not, and at the time considered myself 'lucky'.
