Why does Dr. D’Adamo use plain folic acid in his supplements? There is evidence that the active form (folate) should be preferred.  Also, I understand that it could be detrimental to prostate health.

I don't think it's a myth for those who have MTHFR gene mutations.  And they seem to be fairly common.
