Hi,
I'm a bit confused about the black dot status and just wondered if anyone could clarify and explain the protocol?
Do I have to not eat the specific black dot foods for 60 days and then they become neutral foods?
Do I have to be 100% compliant for 60 days and then introduce black dots as neutral?
Do I have to really just try to avoid black dots all together?

Any info really appreciated,

I just looked at SWAMI reports of three clients and their reports said to avoid for "about three months."

After this initial flush out period--Black dot food items can be reintroduced into the diet in "small amounts."

This mean that you should eat less of these foods than foods that rated as neutral, but you can occasionally eat some.

How much you can eat is probably related to whether you are trying to treat specific health conditions.

In time you will naturally earn a perspective and this will get easier and clearer. For example, after a 3 months break in a black dot, you will have the opportunity, when introducing it back in moderate amounts, to notice and realize more clearly how it actually influences you personally and how beneficial it is for you, and then decide accordingly if you are interested to continue and have it, if yes, how much of it, etc. A black dot isn't going to turn into a neutral, unless maybe when you feed into the questionnaire different data.

In my case, some particular black dots had been to me "the taste of life" before BTD, GTD, and SWAMI: Red wine, green olives. After long and repeated trials and efforts, I've reached the point where I've realized that I am much better off w/o them. I don't consume them anymore and don't miss them. This took few years, which I consider years of training.

You're supposed to completely avoid the "black dot" foods for 60-90 days. Then, you can continue to avoid them if you want, or you can carefully re-introduce them and see how you react. It's best to try only one at a time, and in fairly small amounts.

Most people think of "black dots" as "once in a while foods" not as "neutrals after the wash-out period." I've found that my "black dot foods" dont' hurt me if I eat one portion every 6 months or so (of each individual food.) more than that and I start to get symptoms. I can't eat any "black dot" foods every single day or even every single week- it's generally a special occasion when I'll eat one.

Ruthie said it well.

Black Dots don't change into Neutrals.

They can be an alternative to Toxins, if you're in a place where you have few options, such as on a road trip.  

I choose to avoid them in all other cases.
