Going off beans, peas, tubers, fruit and sugars today

:'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'(  :'( !!!  :o ITS GOING TO BE WORSE THAN LOSING A BOYFRIEND

I'm not supposed to eat meats after morning time. A world of nuts and veggies remains!
I feel like binge-ing Atkins style. They say "no fresh cheeses" - what about paneer? That has no carbs.

I'm scared!! What about fats and my Explorer liver!!???  :o   :'(  :'(   :'(   :'(   :'(  (depressed)

What are you expecting to gain by not eating carbs, and by not eating meat after breakfast? Please listen to your body, and eat more food (especially beans/peas) if you're left feeling under nourished.

Maffetone says it's the only way to be able to see after 2 weeks whether you have an enzyme to digest sweet potatoes, or peas, or beans, or cheese,  because if you don't have these enzymes it impacts your pancreas and endocrine system making you out of balance, fat and chronically ill on the backside of 40. What if my OAT axis begins realigning itself after I stop overburdening my body with carbs? I still have gas after every carb meal. Doesn't matter what carb it is. Beano enzyme never worked for me.

I wish I had never read that **** Atkins book in the past.

Maffetone doesn't say "just do one carb at a time over the next 2 weeks." I dont' know why. It would probably take months if someone did just "one carb at a time" to test. Is that a good/better idea ??

Oh, metabolic syndrome!  I like my ND's advice.  He says that you fill half your plate with vegetables, ideally half of which are raw while the other half are cooked.  Meat, fish or poultry take up at least 2/3 of the remaining space.  Some carbs, like three tablespoons perhaps, can fit in the remaining sliver of space.  Stay away from anything "low fat."  Another good idea is to strive for fewer than 50 grams of Net Carbs per day.

Anyway, try having more fat and either meat, fish, poultry or egg in place of carbs at each meal.  In between, try infusions of coconut oil.  (I add it or ghee to my green tea.)  Try herbs and spices that moderate the blood sugar response.  Cinnamon is one example.  I take a proprietary blood sugar balance formula.

I don't consider myself a survivor, though, because that implies that the condition swept through my life like a tidal wave or forest fire and I hunkered down while it roared past.  No, X creeps up on you insidiously and locks its tendrils into you like the creature in Alien.  If you feed it, it will grow, eventually bursting out of your stomach.  Starve it and you might just hang on to star in the sequel. ;)

Square peg- that nutritional advice is fine for Os, and probably for Bs as well, but I'm not sure how well it would work for an A.

Doing "one carb at a time" isn't a bad idea- but I wonder if you couldn't lump carbs in together for this test: all root vegetables (sweet potatoes, carrots, etc), all legumes (peas, beans, etc), all grains (rice, quinoa) rather than doing every single food individually. Cutting out dairy won't hurt you.

At least that's an approach to try if you feel too unsatisfied with the "no carb" method after a day or two.

I am a survivor of this label.... also...I had them all, fibromialgia, chronic fafigue, Near lupus..In the end it is neuropathy, and diabetes .... all others where just syndroms for when they don't know what to say..

BTD is the cure.. if not the cure, at least the help mate that makes all the difference.  I got diabetes 20 years after my brother.. he did not do BTD..  I am feeling great no matter what and in the end that is what matters...


For the nerve pain, however I have equipment that takes it all away.. only need to use it every two weeks or so... could not live without it, I would have dramatic numbness / damage in my feet.
