BTD Forums  /  SWAMI Xpress  /  Question concerning Polyvite A
Posted by: Enobattar, Friday, September 6, 2013, 7:17pm
While visiting my nutritionist yesterday, I showed him Polyflora.  When he read the ingredients he was impressed.  When I showed him my Polyvite A, he was not impressed due to the fractionated vitamins he saw, even going so far as saying that, "when you see them separated like that it almost always means they are synthetic".  !!! I was incredulous and told him that Dr. D. was all about whole food supplements and, if they are 'separated' they would have to be from natural sources.  He was doubtful.

He went on to explain that, even if they were from 'natural' sources and not synthesized, they would still end up in the liver because the body would not recognize them as food.  The liver would then have to pull from other sources within the body to complete the fractionated element.

He explained that people usually feel better for a couple of weeks (even if synthetic), but after that their health goes down hill if they continue taking them.

I know he meant well but I just can't believe that Dr. D. would allow this scenario.  Would someone who knows, PLEASE help me to understand?  (huh)

I suggest contacting DNP and have a rep there explain the formulation of the polyvite product.  I know I tolerate it okay and do not do so well on some synthetic products from other vendors.

Thank you C-Sharp and Lola!

After 29 days of diarrhea, my nutritionist could dedect nothing wrong with me except my adrenals were a little weak.  That explained why I felt a little tired.  Before the checkup I did not tell him of my symptoms.  I mainly wanted him to tell me if the virus was gone from my stomach.

Other than his rant on fractionated vitamins, I was very glad I went to see him.  It was a relief to have a 2nd opinion concerning the virus being gone.  After the exam I told him of my symptoms.  He, too, was not alarmed (as Doc was not) but went on to counsel me on what foods I could now begin to add back into my diet.

A few days prior, having felt sure the virus was gone, I stopped the S.P. Cholocol II and the Immuplex and started on Dr. D's protocol for Intestinal Health with what I had on hand.  Yesterday I finally got all of the 6 required components.  I plan on staying on this protocol for the suggested 4 weeks.  :)

Besides the Intestinal protocol, I'm taking the Teacher 3-pack, and the Polyvite and Phytocal.

When I get better I was just planning on taking the Teacher 3-pack and Ara-6 or Deflect daily.  Only taking the Phytocal if I developed leg cramps or twitching legs, and only taking the Polyvite if I was feeling 'off'/not 100%.

Does the above plan sound good?  Or am I missing something like.... I'm supposed to take the multi's all the time along with the Teacher 3-pack and Ara6 or Deflect?

SWAMI lists the Phytocal first, then the Polyvite, then the 3-pack, and, finally, Deflect.

On SWAMI supplements are generally sorted into categories.

The importance of a supplement for a person is indicated by the number of stars that supplement receives.

How helpful!  Thanks, once again.

Each of the 3 pack rates 6 stars, the Deflect 5, the Protein Blend 4A is 4, then the Polyvite and the Phytocal are 3 stars.

Based on that new knowledge my plan sounds good, with the possible addition of the Protein Blend.

Hope you're having a good day.  :)
