I'm trying to figure out what veggies are thyroid inhibitors.  i know some things are ok when cooked like spinach and broccoli i think i understand that brussel sprouts and regular cabbage are inhibitors cooked or raw, there are many other greens that are akin to these that i cant figure out  the status  of, such as collards chard napa cabbage etc. if anyone has info on this subject it would be greatly appreciated!

Here is a very good, accurate myth buster for that bit of "information"

I think it might be helpful for you.

It's not a veggie but wheat has a nasty lectin that binds to the thyriod causing damage.

That's wonderful news!

How compliant have you been to your btd these last 20 years as close as you can figure? ...50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100%?

Did BTD improve your ability to maintain portion control beyond what you could achieve with a general low carb diet?  Just curious....

90%!  Keep up the good work.  (clap)(woot)(wink)

I suppose if weight loss is your main goal, following everything to the 'T' would be very important.  But if not, Dr. D. says that following the frequency guidelines is more important than the size of portion eaten at one sitting. (within reason, of course)

Lola counseled me concerning paying close attention to my vegetable (live foods) guidelines.  It is hard for me to get in 5 cups daily.  But I find that when I do, my craving for carbs goes way down.

Much success to you!   :)

well with my regular low carb diets, they didnt focus so much on portion control, so i didnt think about it very much, my main goal starting this lifestyle was blood sugar control, i do pretty well with that with portion control but still have my ups and downs mainly due to hormonal fluctuations im pretty sure.still have issues but i realize it takes a long time to heal after years of abuse, i know im on my way, trying to be patient and just doing the best i can
