I've recently moved and my encyclopedia is in a box somewhere ::)

I am doing what I can in the way of stress reduction, but I would like supplement suggestions for  adrenal/thyroid support for a Teacher. My TSH levels are elevated and I am pretty sure it's stress related, I don't seem to have autoimmune issues.

I've checked the "history of thyroid problems" on swami, nothing in particular stands out as good or bad.

Ok, thanks. The harmonia has a few avoids for me, do you think Live Cell might be a good sub? I really do not want to loose weight, but I can see that if my metabolism was optimal, my gut could benefit.

There was a recent article posted about the benefits of gingko biloba, particularly for type A's due to our naturally elevated levels of cortisol.

I started taking it a few weeks ago and has been extremely effective in reducing my stress levels. I feel less physical tension which has brought back normal eating habits and I'm sleeping more comfortably also.

I have had adrenal issues all my life, though it's never gotten to the point of adrenal exhaustion. Lowering the cortisol levels and eating a nutritious balanced diet is critical for people like us to be able to function properly.

There was another supplement mentioned in that thread called ashwaganda that I have not tried yet but likely will in the future; it has similar benefits and you may want to look into that one too.

I trust Vitamin Shoppe or Swanson's house brand label.

Pantothenic acid (vit. B5) is good for adrenals. I suppose it is OK for all types.

I keep Solgar Ashwagandha capsules (I trust them). Each capsule contains 300 mg standardized ashwagandha root extract and 100 mg ashwagandha root powder.

Yes, partly, and an excellent one.  :)

Try to search (the button above) for "live cell" for like 2 years back (730 days) and to read the testimonials for encouragement.

Could you tell us what the avoids are for you in Harmonia?
I have it on hand to mix in my smoothies but use it only weekly. ::)

It has some avoid seaweeds in it, nori, bladderwrack and kelp. They were neutral for me as an A, but swami lists them as avoid.

Still trying to figure this out, I'm sure it's stress related. The ashawagandha seemed to make me have a never-ending period  :P

*following!*  I've got an axis imbalance as well; no rosehips or any of the seaweeds on the harmonia for me. (hand)

"You know you should eat more fresh, healthy greens — now here is a healthy way to introduce those fruits and vegetables into your daily diet." - sounds like 'Mama in a can' product  :D

I guess the detox protocol would work best for a weight-loss at the same time for a Pear shape - but metabolic enhancements? Wouldn't you do metabolic enhancements AFTER you learn what is going to stabilize your adrenals/thyroid, in each individual case ??)

Last month, I had some bloodwork done which showed I have adrenal fatigue. Doc is recommending a product called Adreset, by Metagenics. It would run about $2/day.

The three ingredients don't seem like a great match for me. Cordyceps and Rhodiola are recommended for other blood types in the BT Encyclopedia, and Panax ginseng is recommended for men, in LR4YT. For $2/day, I'd like to think I was getting my money's worth.

Any insights from the forum would be most welcome!

While Metagenics is well-known for having good products, they do not tailor products based on Blood type.  I have taken several of their products short-term usually with good results, although no this one specifically.

If you can find a supplement protocol more suited to your type, then ask your practitioner if that would be suitable in your situation...  There are times when it is best to stick with the recommendation and others when it isn't critical...  Part of the Dr. reco could be familiarity with one product or line vs. another or discreet supps...

My guess is that by incorporating some of the Anti-Stress and Fatigue Support protocols that you could do better than Adreset, but I'm not looking at the big picture that the Dr. is...

I have adrenal fatigue and issues with my thyroid.  My naturopath has me on 2 Metagenics supps - Adaptan and Thyrocalm.  I notice the difference when I do not take them - they are definitely helping me.  My hubby who is a type A also takes the Adaptan.

I'm taking ashwaganda powder, shatavari root powder, and Indian bala root for chronic weakness of neuro-endocrine system.
Plus improvements in nutrition and being disciplined every day regarding exercising and deep breathing exercises, stretching.  The foods which I feel are weakening to me - wheat, spelt, sugar and all sweeteners, lactose, excessive fructose in fruit.
Keep protein up, esp in the mornings, look up the daily circadian rhythms which help decide when to eat, to feed the liver/adrenals.
Keep posture good so energy can circulate up and down glands, learn yoga mudra - works with energy/prana to strengthen glands.
Keep away from toxic energy and people.
Good quality sleep and nap during day if possible.
Good elimination essential too - wastes out of body regularly, so nutrients and supplements can enter cells.
Green vegetables, raw garlic.   The greens veg will give you B vitamins. as will other foods.
Black cumin seeds or nigella seeds good for middle glands, but check on the typebase.
I'm an O, but the other Type A's will assist you.

Hi Grey Rabbit,  just curious to know which ingredients in the Harmonia are avoids for you, as a Teacher??
