As per Dr. D....I take it with 2 Uridine.

DH, does the lecithin, juice but was just asked to change to pumpkin seed oil instead of flax and was just taken off Uridine. (don't know why)

Every morning for breakfast. Grapefruit, pineapple, and cranberry juice mixed with flaxseed oil, lecithin granules and a scoop of Amazing Greens. Plus a teaspoon each of Trehalose and ARA-6 larch. I think the term for such a concoction is "guggle", but it actually tastes really good.

I have most of the ingredients as part of my morning blender drink.  Not sure if it counts since there are a lot of other ingredients.  I'm using 3 Tb freshly ground flax instead of the oil, plus lecithin, ARA 6, Trehalose Complex and blueberries, blended in Pineapple juice.

I thought, watermelon season is over and waiting for red grapefruit.

Now I see I have been all wrong: it can be made with other antioxidant juices  ;)

For me, mainly cranberry juice.

Please, is there a recommended dosage for uridine? I'd guess it to be determined personally by a health practitioner. Thanks.

Thanks!  :)

Vitacost has Jarrow's (250 mg), I intended to order there. Not corn free though.

I'll look into Pureformulas - Ecological Formulas.

They do. Their international shipping fees are too high though.

They ARE cheaper than the Jarrow's: for 60 capsules of 300 mg you pay 25% less than for 60 capusles of 250 mg.

They too are not corn free.

(think)(pray)(smartyp)(scared)(geek)

Anyway, both are in stock!

2 pills of 300

I've bought mine here and this is the exact product.  Make sure you get the formula that says
300.  They make a different formula with a larger amount of mg.  This is what I originally bought at Dr, D's clinic.

Yes, and thanks for the link....I bookmarked it so I could have him read it.

What is the function of Uridine because DH was on it when taking flax oil but when switched
to pumpkin seed oil, it was removed from his protocol.  Does Uridine just belong with flax?
I guess I'm wondering why some people need to take Uridine and some won't find it useful.

I've taken the "cocktails" a few times and my B sons used to drink them every morning for a while, but we stopped recently as the the lecithin and flax are a bit expensive and we are trying harder to prioritize our grocery budget.

I personally find fresh squeezed lemon juice in warm water first thing in the morning to be very refreshing and cleansing, as well as very economical.

Thanks Chloe. This is the manufacturer Lola wrote about. I understand they are excellent and it's excellent to buy from them in the US - they charge almost $60 to ship to Israel, and this much too expensive, 5 times of what Vitacost does. I've ordered 2 bottles today  :D

Our customs services demand that personal import of supps does not exceed the quantity for 3 months, in order for it not to be considered commercial import.  8)

Vitacost's is 250 mg per capsule. I plan to start with one daily, with the membrosia.

I started to inquire in one healthfood store. The more people become interested, the sooner it is going to appear on the shelves.

I wanted to add this Uridine information to this thread. It is also referred to as a nootropic. It can be taken with the Membrosia cocktail.

What Is Uridine?
Uridine is an important building block used to create RNA. It can be found in many dietary sources such as Broccoli, Beer, and Tomatoes. Recently, studies have revealed that Uridine does in fact carry nootropic properties. Studies have shown that it works in synergy with Choline to help improve memory, improve fluid intelligence, and fight forms of dementia. [1] Other studies show that it can work in synergy with EPA/DHA omega-3 fatty acids to act as an anti-depressant.[2

Uridine Dosage Information
Regretfully, there is little information on a standard dosage for Uridine. Mot studies have been conducted on animals, and the scaled doseage to humans is hard to pinpoint. I would suggest following the instructions on the specific supplement you purchase.
However, I know many of you will be buying in bulk. Brewers yeast is a dietary source of Uridine at a 3% concentration. The recommended dose for this supplement is 20g. If you were to do the math, that’s 3% of 20,000mg or 600mg. My suggestion would be to start at 300mg per day and work your way up. It’s also important to note that the supplement you purchase may be a different percetage of Uridine, so you will have to adjust accordingly.

How Does Uridine Work?
Uridine increases the synthesis of brain phosphatidylcholine (PC). In fact, one study concluded that administration of Uridine and Choline may increase PC levels by up to 45% [3][5][10] This is important because PC is a very important part of your cell membranes. If your brain runs out of choline it begins to eat away at the PC component of your cell membranes. This can be problematic because the PC plays a crucial role in your cells ability govern its basic activies and regulate enzymes. [4] In other words, if a cell loses its PC, it can’t function properly.

Uridine is converted to CDP Choline in the brain. [11]. This increases synthesis of Acetylcholine (ACh).[6] ACh is a a key neurotransmitter involved in synaptic plasticity.[7] Synaptic plasticity refers to your brain’s ability to form, strengthen, weaken, or destroy connections between neurons. To be stated simply, the more synaptic your brain is, the greater your working memory is. The greater your working memory is, the greater your fluid intelligence is. [8]

Increases production of neurites. [9] A neurite is any projection of from the cell body. These “projections” can be either axons or dendrites. Axons are where signals leave your neurons and dendrites receive those signals.(Though it has recently been discovered that dendrites may release signals as well.) In other words, more neurites means you brain can make more connections. More connections leads to improved cognitive abilities.
Increases levels dopamine in the brain. [9] Dopamine is the key neurotransmitter involved in the reward and pleasure center of the brain. Higher levels of dopamine improve your motivation and give you more energy. Simply stated, it is easier to sustain attention on a particular task. This could also be one of the causes for Uridine’s anti-depressant properties. [2]

Safety and Side Effects of Uridine
Uridine is considered a relatively safe nootropic and shouldn’t present any problems if taken properly. In one study conducted to view the effects of uridine treatment on HIV lipoatrophy, 165 participants were given supplementation the contained uridine for 48 weeks. Only three of the participants dropped out of the trial due to diarrhea. The study stated that “Uridine was well tolerated”. [17] Thus far diarrhea is the only reported side effect, and this side effect did not persist when doses were stopped.

There is also evidence to suggest Uridine may lower levels of Vitamine B12. [18] This can easily be avoided by taking vitamin B12 supplements and B9 supplements.

The uridine is here! Started to take this morning with membrosia.

Now the morning looks festive with 3 major stops:

(a) 1 level tbls of Trehalose Complex in warm lemon water.

(b) 1/2 to 3/4 cup fresh green juice (celery stalks, half an unpeeled zucchini, kale leaves, romain lettuce leaves, etc)

(c) membrosia with egg yolk lecithin and uridine.

(b) and (c) are immediately followed by a protein breakfast. This morning: steamed fish (Argyrosomus regius) and scrambled egg.

Glad you got your uridine....Just curious about something you mentioned.  I didn't see that your
membrosia drink contained an oil. Mine contains flax oil....My husband's contains pumpkin seed oil.  We both use soy lecithin, plus a few oz of  juice and I take 2 uridine with my drink. DH no longer is supposed to use uridine. (don't know why)....we were told by Dr. D to wait 20-30 minutes before consuming anything with fat after we consume the membrosia drink. I noticed
you said you immediately followed your drink with eggs and fish.  All good but wondering if
you knew to wait before consuming fat.....or is this necessary for everyone.  I'm not sure.  Just
pointing it out in case a forum moderator knows for sure.  Want you to get the best results possible!   :)

Yes, the drink should contain a compliant oil and it's that oil combined with the lecithin that needs
time to be digested, independently of other fats....  I was wondering whether yaeli's membrosia drink contained oil....It appeared from her description that she didn't wait.

Thank you Chloe.

Sure, flax seed oil in cranberry drink made of Dynamic Health concentrate and mineral water. In Summer there's no problem for me to make it with watermelon juice, but now in autumn I'm not sure my GI tract can stand the red grapefruit juice. I'll make the decision when I look at it on the store shelf. In the meantime I still look in the other direction...  :)

I particularly mentioned the lecithin only because I ordered egg yolk lecithin capsules (from Swanson) especially, in order to consume less soya products. Soy lecithin in granules is available everywhere, but I'd rather avoid it.

I reacted very strongly to the uridine. At this moment it seems a different life: before September 19th and after September 19th, the day I began to take it. I feel more myself, more my young self, as thoughts are running and decisions are made with less effort for the benefit of my tiniest daily chores, from laundry to trying on outfits for dinner outing.  :) ;) And I sleep well.

WOW, you brought up something that never dawned upon me before....where lecithin comes from.
And Dr. D doesn't specify any type of lecithin product....so when membrosia is suggested for anyone of any genotype, I would think most people are buying any product that says "lecithin"

I found sunflower lecithin from Swanson's although as a type A who can have soy, don't think it
would be necessary for me to switch.  I have major issues with eggs so would never buy the egg
yolk lecithin but wondering about men....would they want to keep ingesting soy lecithin?

Thank you Chloe, now I am glad I asked. Sunflower seeds are avoids for me, so I'll stick with the egg yolk lecithin capsules.

From my Best Avoided list:

Soybean Beans •
Soybean Granules, Lecithin •
Sunflower Seeds

I must restrain my egg yolk (a diamond) consumption though, as a recent computerized diagnosis indicated it as a mild allergen. More exercises and walks in the fresh air are in order....

In health food stores. It's cold pressed but not organic. I have to call the local distributor (of organic foods) and find out about the manufacturer, who I think is local. The same distributor imports the walnut oil from the U.S., cold pressed organic walnut oil made by Jedward International (who also sell organic black cumin seed oil).

Dr. D gave the recipe for Membrosia many years ago to be prepared at home. If I am not mistaken it is included in one of his first books. The DPN supplement Membrosia Complex is new. It was released only few months ago and it contains lecithin and uridine. Uridine contributes greatly to clarity of mind, and I could feel its influence immediately when I started to add it to my membrosia.

This was what I was doing prior to the release of the new membrosia complex which didn't
exist when this thread began...  I was making my own membrosia formula but no longer do that.
I buy the combo....oil and the powder mixture which does contain trehalose and uridine.. So I
don't have to make up my own individual components anymore  All I add is juice to the combo. :)

You're welcome...we're here to help you if we can...but, feel free to start a thread with your health concerns...and that way, it will be noticed by more forum members. The fact that this thread is designated for membrosia discussion, I don't want your issues to get lost in this thread.  And I don't want to hijack this discussion.

Let me just say that membrosia combo will help everyone... but specifically whether it could help your personal concerns, I'm thinking you might want to consider the female balance health protocol....

http://www.dadamo.com/protocols/16.html

and learning your secretor status...and getting a SWAMI.  If you wind up being a Teacher, you will understand that bacterial and fungal overgrowth is common...and a SWAMI gives you a very
personalized diet....better than the book, very specific for your health concerns.  It takes your
personal health history into consideration as well as that of your ancestors. And then again
if you're an Explorer, it's likely soy isn't going to be your best friend. I'm thinking you want
to be following the best diet possible.  And SWAMI would be the next step towards better health.

Although I've been on this diet (first the BTD and now my SWAMI) since I'm 47, I've felt personally that there is so much hormonal disruption that can take place when women are in their 40s.....peri menopause years which can extend almost a decade...so your issues sort of make me wonder if your thyroid is sluggish (thinning hair, feeling tired) and possibly that you're not properly detoxing excess estrogen.  But then again, you could have blood sugar issues.... so I can't say for sure.

It's why I made the above suggestions as giving you too many different protocols to follow winds up becoming
way more expensive than purchasing a secretor test and getting a SWAMI.
