Live Cell O®
Sip Right 4 Your Type Tea O
I have been reading a bit more about Swami Xpress, and have seen many references to GenoType specific products that seem to be recommended by SwamiX. Now I am wondering if it is a mistake to order all these products before getting my SwamiX results, although it will be a couple weeks before I receive my Secretor status, so I may wait a while to run the program.
Does Swami recommend any of the ABO supplements?
If it doesn't and it recommends other supplements (more GenoType perhaps) is it a good or bad idea to also take the supplements I listed above?
Rh value is not relevant to secretor status so for that it does not matter.
Here is an example of supplement recommendations for an O hunter without specific health concerns that I ran recently:
Polyflora O Probiotic
Protein Blend 4 ' O'
Chocolate Cherry Bar (12-Pk)
Blueberry Almond Bar (12-Pk)
Basic Type O Pack (Deflect O, Polyvite O, Phytocal O, Polyflora O)
Yours will of course be different
I called the company with a question before I ordered. I also asked about the secretor test because I had a price list from 2012 and it seemed to indicate that it would tell me ABO, rH, and secretor status. (I think this is the blood test that seems to have been discontinued.)
I mentioned this to the representative, and she told me that not only does the secretor test not tell me my rH factor, but I absolutely had to know it to get an accurate secretor test.
This surprised me, because I really thought knowing that I am an O is sufficient. I thought it will check for the H antigen since I am an O, and the rh factor plays no part in the saliva secretor test.
I ended up adding the ABO blood test to my order because I don't want to invalidate my secretor test results by not being completely sure of my rh factor.
It's a bit frustrating that I may have ordered the ABO test again even though it seems I may have been misinformed that rh status is needed for the Secretor test.
Oops! I stand corrected. I did not think that Rh was needed for the saliva secretor test, but if the testing company told you that they need Rh -- they obviously know what they need better than I do.
Now about the 2012 price list and the secretor test telling you ABO, rh, and secretor status. That was for the Glycometrics secretor test kit. The Glycometrics test is no longer offered.
Quoted from BCgalblue_skies77 : all those supplements you mentioned I take or have taken on a regular basis. I have also taken the 3 supplements specific to Gatherer's. They are all great.
I hope the ink strips are easier than the ink pad.
It's not a lot of money, but now I'm wondering what to do with it. I tested everyone in my family years ago and don't know anyone else in this area who wants to buy it. Maybe I can sell it online.
My ethnicity is 50% Slovenian and 50% Lithuanian. Slovenia is considered Central or Southern Europe, and Lithuanian is usually included in Northern Europe, I think, so I entered Central Europe. I wonder if it would be better to leave that blank?
Quoted TextThis is a very useful and inexpensive test that checks to see if you have the gene to taste either phenylthiocarbamide (PTC) or a related substance called propylthiouracil (PROP). PROP outcome is critical to an accurate GenoType determination. Although SWAMI Xpress® will run without you knowing your PROP Taster status it is highly recommended that you include this data. There are three possible results:
‘Non-tasters’ taste nothing from the strip
‘Tasters’ can taste the bitter substance
‘Super-tasters’ have an extremely strong reaction to the bitter substance
How to test for PROP Taster status:
You'll need to purchase two types of testing strips: a PROP-containing strip and an untreated strip, called a control. Use PROP testing strips rather than PTC strips. PROP strips yield the same results and are less toxic. A control strip is important, since people can easily imagine a taste, even if it is not there. PROP testing is explained in The GenoType Diet.
I was a Hunter for a number of times that I ran it, until just now when I changed SuperTaster to Slight Taster, and Ecto-Mesomorphic to Mesomorphic. Now it says I'm a Gatherer.
