Hi there everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum but I'll give it a go here.
I have just done my swami and my guidelines suggest a total of 12 servings of meat or fish per week as well as 7 servings of eggs, 3 of cheese 5 of nuts plus 14 serves of carbs, 7 serves of fruit 35 serves of vegetables and I just can't see myself eating all that food. I had a similar problem on the blood type diet which I just ignored, but I would like to get it sorted now as I really want to get my health sorted.
What is the bigger picture I am missing here?  ??)
Thanks
Rupa

If you don't need to eat that much, then don't.

What you might do is adjust the serving size so that you still get things in about the same proportions, rather than cutting out something you may not wish to eat (veggies for example).

Deva, your post was sort of a surprise to me because I get a lot more options/servings than you, and it never occurred to me that I had to eat all that!  :) It is sort of like walking up to a huge, all-you-can-eat smorgasbord. No one would ever expect a person to eat something of everything, would they? One thing, though, that is important to me, and I work hard at it, is to get enough vegetables every day. I pretty well know that I will get enough meat, fish and vegetable protein every day because my body demands it. Vegetables, not so much. But I know that my health depends a lot on getting plenty of them.  :)

Please notice near the bottom of your edit screen on SWAMI is a choice bar concerning serving size and frequency.  You may want to play with that.

Personally, I think my biggest challenge is to NOT go OVER my allowances.  For me that is carbs/starches, fruits, and occasionally turkey.  You sound like an O given all of the meat servings per week.

Much success to you.  :)

A SWAMI is a guideline specific for that individual. For most healthy people I would say it is pretty close to spot on.

However; during periods of illness or stress or extended illness and stress nutritional needs change. If you have not been able to eat or eat well during an extended time then you may need to eat more dense protein from eggs, dairy and meat and seafood until your needs have been satisfied. Their are setting on the software that will indicate servings based on your weight and how physically active you are. If you are very physically active or have a physically demanding job then you will require more calories in order to maintain your weight. I agree with Enobatter play with the serving sizes/frequencies selector. That to me is the bigger picture. Hope this helps :)

Everyone is different.  I feel like I need that much meat.  I don't always eat huge PORTIONS of meat.  But I get blood sugar crashes if I don't have animal protein on a regular basis.

Hi Rupa,
Yes, as I mentioned last night, reduce your portions.  Introduce a salad at lunchtime and maybe look at having smaller meals, more often than three standard large meals.  Let me know how you get on:)
