BTD Forums  /  The GenoType Diet  /  Where is the science, please?

I am used to books with numerous references. By example, if you read the excellent “Becoming raw” of Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina, each affirmation is backed by serious studies. I do not find that the genotype book or in the site.

I would like to know where I can find scientific studies about:

The existence of 6 genotypes
The right food for each genotype
The correlation between measurement and those genotypes

Thanks a lot

The science book with reference to the underlying studies is the this book.

The GenoType diet book is a trade publication and not a science book.

While you wait on the shipping of the Generative medicine book, here are a few studies to get you started:

(The book is much better)

There are posters here since the inception of BTD.  We learned firsthand what the science could not show us before.  We learned that some foods really caused us pain and suffering and other foods made us well.

Science?  Oh by the way ask any doctor to show you the science on what he has learned in med school and then look that science up to find that most is outdated by decades.  I mean even the way they take blood has changed.

When you get really ill, ask your physician always .. does he guarantee the results?  or is she sure whatever she prescribs will cure the ills you have.. It will be a challenge but at least you will not get any surprizes..

As for 6 Geno types, they are nothing without the 4 basic Blood Types.  What is your blood type?  Why not enter it?  The answers here will become much more effective if you tell us a little about your self.  It also helps to ask a question with specifics.

like: are you a student, do you like to read? I have several books on the subject you might read.  One is lLve Right 4 Your Type.  A catchy title but it will teach you about you more than any other book.  It will teach you why your mom is the way she is, and why she is different from you...

there is science that helps you and there is truth where you find it.  I found MY truth here.. and along with it I got healthy, and so did many others. .. and I save much money by not needing to search elsewhere.

I can not wait to hear from you after reading all the things listed in the other threads.  ...

I wonder will you follow this diet?  It might be the best personal experience you will ever have..   good luck..    By the way.. there is free writing on each of the sections above.  you might research pertinent info there, most is easy, to read.

You see, the GenoType diet is an innovative diet, less than 6 years old. When you get busy living, scientific studies are your least concern.

If every young couple before starting a family would search for scientific studies, mankind would have long ceased to be.

On the other hand, when you are about to start taking chemo, a deadly material, THEN you certainly look first for serious scientific studies.

well said.   :)

That may help some.

If you dig enough you can find most of what you seek on site. The 6 GT's was a computational process of analysis and is not a sacred determination but rather the best breakdown for mass use. Ideally all get their own personalized diet, as in SWAMI.

The measurements are all researchable and standardized. The epigenetic relationships are noted in published papers.

By and large you can also find supporting scientific papers published for the individual aspects, although the system as a whole has not been evaluated in that fashion.

Did you see the "Resources" section (pgs. 303-306) in The Genotype Diet book?

Dr. D'Adamo has presented significant background information showing where he compiled information from, etc.

Thanks for yours answers. I'll make a test for blood type, and I'll dig in the information.

Well said.  The six genotypes that the poster is asking for science to verify are original, descriptive ways to categorize individuals into groups that share a constellation of characteristics, based on Dr. D's research and findings.  So you won't find previous references to those six genotypes, as they are originally named and described by Dr. D.  What you will find is the science that backs up what Dr. D. talks about.  Alternatively and or concurrently, you could simply try the diet and realize its health benefits.

edited to add:  Excellent post, Lloyd!

my teacher told me once that he only found 5 geno-types but Dr. Peter D'Adamo was able to separe us.. the *::) blo--y explorers, who always are the oposite of the expected way of -actings... due  to our genotype* and here I am very thank full
coz now I feel respected and also taken for serious ;) ;D :D 8) :X

google the terminology and the different concepts and find all the science you need

D2/D4 ratios
dermatoglyphic/ whorl/ ridge height/ arch/ ulnar and radial loop/ deltas
biometric measurements
serotyping polymorphisms
epigenetic
taster status/PROP
