Hi all,
its been a long time since I last checked or posted on this board, hope everyone is doing well :)
Just came across this book about wheat and found it very interesting. Im sure many of you have already read it or heard about.

I don't eat wheat, makes my psoriasis terrible. I quit eating it 4 yrs. ago.

Loved the summary!

That explains why no matter how much lost I put on or loose, I always have a fat belly...
I'm a size UK 14 from the middle down just because of my belly, size UK 12 for the top.

And since I'm an Explorer, wheat is defo an avoid (but I've been naughty now and then).

I've heard a lot of good things about the book, but I haven't read it yet. It's still a rather "one size fits all" approach- there are some individuals who get wheat as neutral or even beneficial on their SWAMIs, although it is a problem food for the vast majority of people.

I bought the book and read it all.  It really confirmed why I don't eat wheat.  I like reading a variety of things but always apply what I can to following my Swami.

Thank you very much BTypeAUS! The book is an excellent piece of work and I hope will contribute significantly to improving public health even among those who are not aware of Dr Peter Dadamo's work.

I think this book is a fair place for doubters to start, as it narrows the dialog to a simple point. The obesity epidemic is readily observable, and if sugar overindulgence can gain a foot hold in the conversation, perhaps wheat issues can as well.

I often find myself, for the sake of brevity, avoiding the long explanation about this diet (wait staff, HFS staff, parties etc.) and the question that usually arises is "are you gluten free?"  Answering "beyond that" seems to spark either a glazing over of the eyes or some level of interest worthy of further discussion. While I would prefer to light a fire (BTD/GTD), I'll settle for lighting a spark (wheat, corn, sugar = disease in many people).

Even Curves came out with a newer diet to add to their exercise program (at extra cost, of course [new management]).  It is called Curves Complete & claims that you will lose the weight in a better way.  Who knows?
The last few months without huge changes, I have noticed my belly doesn't stick out quite as much. Maybe years of BTDing are doing something better!

This is an excellent book...and there is also a recipe book that is wonderful too.  Some recipes do need tweaking as usual, but well worth the money.   I've made many things out of this book.

Often when people are interested what it's (BTD/GTD) all about, I tell them: First of all you ditch wheat, corn & potatoes. Then they either walk away or ask for more info.

I agree. I like this book for the additional info on wheat and the problems that Frankenwheat causes for many. It is a one-size fits all approach lacking the nuances, specificity and flexibility of Dr D's work - yet I think it adds something, especially if 'Joe Public' find it more accessible in the first instance, before graduating to BTD/GTD/SWAMI. The recipes are also a useful foundation.

Of course this approach would never be considered as a substitute to Dr D's approach in my opinion, however more is never less.

another way to put it:  what changes are you willing to make to be healthy?

So many people want to be healthy but arn't willing to change to reach their goal.

And in our context, the thing to do is after all so peaceful, beautiful, delightful.

I saw this book discussed on Dr. Oz's show a few months ago.  Wheat is the downfall of many who fall for the hype about how healthy it is. I tried to tell someone about not eating wheat...their response was...Oh, I can't do that...Oh well, I tried.

Here's a youtube video doing this method.  Tried it although never heard of it before....very calming.  You might want to start a new thread specifically on this topic because I think the subject might help you attract those who might have have had experience or an interest.  It interested me,
