BTD Forums  /  Eat Right 4 Your Type  /  candida an issue for O's
Posted by: bluedragoon, Saturday, May 25, 2013, 6:30pm
I have been on fivelac going on my 2nd month, with very little improvement-I figured 2 packs a day and than read some are taking 5 packs a day-This company purports 2 packs a day and going for more packs per day appears expensive since the box alone is $60 for 1 month at 2 packs a day.
Anyway would like to switch to anything Dr. D has for my  specific blood O+ type for my ongoing issue of candida. For those who may not know, sugar is also found in starchy vegetables, and I have learned beans, grains, pasta sets off sugar issues and causes me problems right now when it comes to candida. Does Dr. D have a combo pack that includes an excellent absorbable in the to the stomach to the intestine probiotic? I mention this because this is what Fivelac companies says makes them better than any other company because the acid does not destroy the probiotic getting into the intestines. I read on candidase, from one of the members-do you think this is better than five lac?
I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on Fivelac-they appeared pretty convincing from all the competition out there-that they are the best in bringing good bacteria back into the system. ??). Thought maybe Dr. Adamo has something for yeast infections or candida.
I am going to purchase the secretor test on this Tuesday.

I would always go with  Dr. D'Adamo's approach over any others-- you will go round and round with other companies. He is the only one who understands how to treat you as an O.

He has written extensively on this issue.

And in addition, with diet over a long period of time most important, I've found Candex (taken in the middle of the night) absolutely aces it.  I resisted trying "products" for a long time, but eventually tried this one.  Each time with good results.  Why "each time"?  Surgery and high powered antibiotics can unbalance things, and even less drastic events (travel, inability to control food selection) can do it.  We all have our routes.  Anyway, I was pleasantly shocked by how well this worked, and does work.

Sometimes candida is the secondary issue, and won't go away until the primary issue is treated. I've heard of this happening with mercury toxicity- apparently the yeasts form a protective layer over the harmful mercury, and the body will just keep on growing more candida to cover all the mercury when you try to kill off the yeastie beasties. Get rid of the mercury, and the candida resolves on its own.

I don't know if you have mercury overload, nor do I know if something other than mercury can cause a similar problem.  But this is certainly an area to research.

A homeopath can help to remove the mercury based on your symptom picture.

Kescah, I need to get busy and research heavy metal removal through homeopathy. I  cannot recall much discussion of heavy metals in the time period when I was first studying the remedies, in the '90's.

Prunella, they probably just mentioned it as a remedy picture. Plumbum, Merc, etc. You can look each remedy up online or in a Materia Medica and read what symptoms it will show. But that is not how a remedy is chosen, of course. A person might go in wanting mercury removed, but unless he has Mercury symptoms, the homeopath will focus on what sypmtoms the person does present. Their consitutional remedy will go a long way toward removing toxins of all kinds. And of course, a person poisoned with a metal will likely show the symptoms of that metal.

Mercury, for example, is a common remedy and is often chosen for a person who is easily chilled in the cold or overheated in warm weather- just like a mercury thermometer, he reacts to the temperature. (The remedies are amazingly fun to study!)

I love the constitutional prescribing process. I think that I and those in my family have not had metal symptoms, so I an not so familiar with the metals for constitutional prescribing. But it all makes sense.
The mercuries are my "go to" for sore throats, but I haven't needed them for several years. Instead of the sore throats that used to plague me, gut stuff and systemic inflammation are more prominent. The layers of the onion must be peeling away!

If you've taken the Mercs in the past, yes- you probably did some cleansing of the metal! That is good news. I love it when a chronic problem finally leaves like that. It could be that there is still some buried under candida, though, so don't be too surprised if you clear up candida and need more of the Mercs. At least you have that in your arsenal!
