I have been reading up on niacin and even though I did not see it as a supplement, another book
I read (other than BTD) says its good. Anyone have any thoughts on Niacin for O's? :-/

It is B3 & supposedly good for the heart/cholesterol & other things.
Watch out for 'flushing' so start with smaller doses to see how you react.  It should usually be in a good multivitamin in a decent dose, so you may not need extra unless you have certain problems that necessitate you take it.  It certainly is better than drugs!!

I was supposed to take supplemental niacin for my high cholesterol, but even at a fairly low dose I couldn't stand the itching on my neck, back, and arms. The niacin in my multi vitamin and Balanced B 100 doesn't bother me, though.

My mom took niacin for high cholesterol too.  I know she had to build up slowly.  She was O neg.  It worked pretty well for her.

I've taken it for a few years (500mg daily) and it certainly has lowered my total cholesterol levels, specifically the LDL level.  The flushing is a bother but well worth the benefits. :B

Re niacin & other B vitamins, I just read a very interesting article this morning which touched on: Apparently a deficiency in Niacinamide/Niacin causes an allergy to peppers?!

Also an allergy to tomatoes (and citrus fruits) is generally caused by a deficiency in Pantothenic Acid?!

Not withstanding that we know certain blood types just don't do well on particular things, I have always puzzled as to why *lots* of things seem to affect me??!!

I had been trialing lime in hot water a few times a day & also trying to work out why my skin is worse this last week or so :-/ There are a number of reasons - including over exposure to a particular air freshener in 2 op shops I had been to, as well as eating cheese & choc brownie at a function (had to eat something ??)) ::)

But in thinking what other things could have contributed, I was reflecting on the relatively new introduction of lime... The above made sense re Vit B's, as I know I am low on some B vitamins, as I don't eat enough of the right foods they are high in... I have had 2 mugs of lime water today & also took some multi vitamins & things are improving...
