BTD Forums  /  SWAMI Xpress  /  Worth pursuing these SWAMI parameters?
Posted by: Adam, Wednesday, April 10, 2013, 7:21pm
These are the only unknown parameters on my SWAMI:

A1/ A2 Sub Type
Lewis Blood Group
MN Blood Group

Would it be worthwhile to pursue them?

This LabCorp test will determine Lewis and MN, correct?

Having trouble finding the LabCorp test for A1/A2.

My Y Chromosome DNA Haplogroup is R1b and my Mitochondrial DNA Haplogroup is I.

Will these DNA haplogroups determine any of the above for me already?

I'm not sure you really need the lewis testing if you already know your secretor status. I'm not quite sure what MN status does in terms of its effects on the food lists.

Ran every combination of A1/A2, Lewis, and MN and got Warrior on all except:

A2 / Lewis a+ b- / MM
A2 / Lewis a- b+ / MM
A2 / Lewis a- b- / MM

The above three gave me Teacher.

So, Lewis I don't need tested.  And, now I really want to know if I'm either A2 or MM.  I'm really doubting that I'm Warrior.  I've been on the Warrior diet before and it really stressed me out.  The two different diets that SWAMI is presenting to me is very different.  And, the 3-Pack supplements are quite different as well.  So, I'd really like to get these tests done.

I'm pretty sure C# knows the LabCorp test for A1/A2.  So, I'll wait for his reply.

I think A1/A2 is this one:

https://www.labcorp.com/wps/portal/!ut/p/c1/04_SB8K8xLLM9MSSzPy8xBz9CP0os_hACzO_QCM_IwMLXyM3AyNjMycDU2dXQwN3M6B8JG55AwMCuv088nNT9SP1o8zjQ11Ngg09LY0N_N2DjQw8g439TfyM_MzMLAz0Q_QjnYCKIvEqKsiNKDfUDVQEAOrk-dE!/dl2/d1/L3dJMncvd0RFQkZRQWhOUUFoRFFBaEFBISEvWUk1dy83X1VFNFMxSTkzME9HUzIwSVMzTzROMk42Njgw/?criterion=blood+type+a1&x=0&y=0#7_UE4S1I930OGS20IS3O4N2N6680

But these tests are pricey, so do not get it unless you can confirm it is correct elsewhere. I could be wrong.

Thanks, C#. :)

If I could use this UK test, that would be great:

http://right4eu.sageshops.co.uk/gbp/product_info.php?currency=USD&cPath=20&products_id=98

But, I'm not sure it is allowed as I live in the US.

I really don't think I'm Warrior.  It gives me nearly all wheat as neutral and I know for a fact that my insides would stop up if I consumed it regularly.  Having more than one serving of ostrich or turkey a week really keeps me level.  I could not function on a mostly vegetarian diet.  Also, Kefir as a diamond?  Sorry, but that stuff upsets my stomach.  Also, Chocolate as a superfood?  Same thing.  Upset stomach.

The Warrior 3 pack always made me feel not quite right.  With the Teacher 3 pack, I always felt much better, more calm and level.  Also, the Biotin in the Teacher 3 pack helps clear up my flaky fingernails.

I believe I'm a Teacher and am going to stick with it.

Adam,
Wondering if you might be a blend of Teacher/explorer. Myers briggs for Explorer is INFP.

As an A, when I found out that I am a NN, corn became a toxin. That was one of the major changes...

Interesting Adam...If you were an A2, you'd more likely be a Teacher.  But even in Dr. D's office, nobody
asked my Myer's Briggs type.....I was just measured and deemed a Teacher....so if this is the one factor that changes you from a Teacher to a Warrior, I'm not sure it should be the defining factor.

Who measured you?  If I were you, i'd get someone to re-measure just to be certain.

I kind of wonder if Lin is on the right path....that you're more likely a Teacher/Explorer than a Warrior.

Typically changing an answer to one of the four parts of Myers-Briggs changes the GenoType percentages by 1 or 2%.

People that are close to the line between two GenoTypes will flip on a change in whole variety of parameters.

If you look at the food lists, these do not always change as much as people expect for a shift in GenoType.

I think Lin is right, that I might be INFP.  I seem to match several of the M-B profiles.  But, a Warrior I am not.

True.  The outright avoids are pretty much identical.  And, that is what's most important, the food we should avoid at all costs.  But, it would be nice to know my diamonds and superfoods so I can emphasize those for better healing and wellness.

I measured myself, with some assistance from my son.  Is there a practitioner in St. Louis by chance?  C_Sharp, are you a practitioner by chance?  And, I removed the M-B entirely in SWAMI and still came up Warrior.  Something has changed somewhere.  I think Dr. D is in there updating the SWAMI logic again.

Nectarines and pears have a habit of flipping between neutral and superfood on my SWAMI. I don't consider that a big deal, though, because I eat so many diamonds and superfoods otherwise. I'm not all that wild about pears, but really good nectarines are out of this world!! When they are good I eat one nearly every day -  the only neutral fruit with that status!

Interesting, these changes in SWAMI. I don't know my MN-type and have also wondered if I should get it tested. Playing around with the values in SWAMI doesn't change anything in the food lists though, so I guess it doesn't always have a big influence.

Besides tweaking the SWAMI input, how are you doing at the moment, Adam? Is your weight loss goal coming any closer and do you feel good on your curent food intake?

Not too well, actually.  This change in SWAMI by trying to zero in on my Myers-Briggs is really stressing me out.  And, as a result, I'm cheating again, and my weight is going back up.  I hope to sort things out this weekend and start again.

And, the fact that I can't reliably get an A1/A2 subgroup test in the US is royal p***ing me off!   >:(

I'm sorry to read that.  I hope you'll be able to find a way that feels comfortable for you, with or without some "unknown" factors in your SWAMI.

From what I've read in this thread, you're already quite conscious of which foods are not good for your well-being, so have some confidence in yourself and your own judgment.

I can certainly understand your feelings. I went from Warrior on GENO to Explorer on SWAMI, and I felt like the earth had opened up under me! Thankfully, the great posters on the forum helped me through the sea change. I had been on the Warrior diet a long time. Now, I just love my Explorer diet!

I changed several times, by the book I was a teacher, then at first swami had me as a explorer, then warrior, then explorer, then finally warrior. I am happiest as a warrior.  As my health improved and I unchecked some items  - my type didn't change, but some of my foods shifted - it took me a while to re-adjust to the new lsitings. You get into the habbit of having certain foods then the list shifts and it takes some time to re-learn the changes. I think the biggest thing is to listen to your body. All wheats are an avoid for me - but some effect me worst than others - breads aren't good for me - but I can tolerate pasta in small quanities. Fats are my worst enemy - but avocados don't bother me - which are neutral. At one point avocados were a diamond - but shifted to neutral at some point - I don't remember when. I know as a lost weight and my measurement changed - my lists changed slightly. I don't know if any of this helps you, but I thougth it might :)

I printed out the Warrior diet that SWAMI is giving me and will be designing a meal plan for next week from that.  I have gained all my weight back... 253 ...due to all the stress about this.  I haven't had any pork or beef, but I've binged heavily on carbs, fried chicken, and potatoes.  Oh, Lord, help me.  Anyway, I'd done the Warrior thing before, so I know what's coming.

One good thing is that the weight is going to fall off quickly, so at least I'll be happy with that.  But, it tends to be a stressful diet for me, so I'll have to practice alternate-nostril breathing, stretching/breathing/amateur yoga, and lots of meditation.  I'm ready with Tranquility Base, Cortiguard, Holy Basil, and Ashwagandha.  Got Dr. D's green tea and plenty of compliant food at my fingertips.  All I need now is the Warrior 3 Pack.  I won't forget to do my walking either, that's important, too.

I'll make sure I'm at least getting tofu, salmon, or ostrich/turkey each day to make sure I'm getting plenty of protein.  I get 12 vege protein servings weekly, so on the non-poultry days, I can eat plenty of beans to get full.  I probably won't eat many nuts, if at all, they are high in calories and don't fill me up.

I ran the SWAMI without a Myers-Briggs setting at all and still came up Warrior.  So, based purely on body dimensions, I'm Warrior.  No biggie.  I'm probably just one of those tough cases where I straddle the line between Warrior and Teacher.

Goodbye Paprika, you were a wonderful spice and I will miss you dearly.  :'(  But, hello Chocolate, my old friend, long time no see.  :)
