I have been told by all of Dr D's diets that I ought to have some oil.

Recently I read that spoon of oil washed down with warm water!!! (one hour  away on either side) in-between 3 main meals would help with hunger!!! No snacks needed!!!  This (calories exchange) has worked great on my brain since I started early February.  Lost weight / some better bathroom visits too.

Now I am noticing that if I take another spoon of oil later in the evening I sleep better.

Extra Light Olive oil.. away from any food or food taste by one hour on either side.. 1-2 teaspoons as much as a table spoon..

ok since April 5th the first post here..

I am told by my doctor that my PB has lowered fro 120 over 70 to 98 over 70.. I will find out if triglycerides will be affected also or cholesterol.. Blood test reading in a few days.

But I am pleased to say that any time I wish to postpone any food eating I just take the poil away from food for 60 minutes and it works every time.

If my BP lowered it is that my brain is not Racing!!! craving, thinking.. now bathroom visits are on target.. nice..

even while I ate out often, I have not gained in two months! .. at least that.

I think I am sleeping restfuller.. or at least if I wake with 'hunger' I take one more spoon oil and sleep fin not even hungry for many hours...

I read about this on the Shangri-la diet website and life has never been as good..

For brain issues I would suggest trying this adding oil thingy.  To gain weight eat the oil with food,  -to drop weight read the book and take the oil in place of snaking.  The brain is where this is at.

This has changed my life.. my brain is functioning differently.  I would recommend this to anyone who is ADHD, has anxiety or even is fighting addictions, autistism.. its not hurtful and might work in ways not available any other way..

Might want to use Black current seed oil or flaxseed oil-- better choices

If you use flax seed oil, watermelon juice instead of warm water and add 1tbl of lecithin - you are already in membrosia land.

I use a TON of olive oil (and, I must admit, the neutral-for-me, dark-toasted sesame oil, which I just can't get enough of) in my diet, yet I don't take it separately from food.  I use way more oil than recommended for me in my GTD, I will say.  I seem to do great on it.  Goldie, I think it is important to choose extra virgin, first-cold-pressed, certified organic olive oil.  Glad you are doing well!

The idea of this oil regiment is not for the pleasure of it, but after reading up on the Shangri-la diet book you can decide if it is of value to your own life.  It is not to be flavorful, as that would trigger weight gain..
using the 'oil' for the brain might allow for other oils, but for now i am doing it to drop weight, and have peace of mind.

Goldie, I think that finally you got to me: I've just opened the fridge and took 1 tbl of flaxseed oil just like that. Why not?? Better than any snack, and I am not going to repeat this every (nor every other) hour... At most I'll have some watermelon  :D

Thank you!  ;) :K)

Ok Yaeli.. one spoon at snack time twice a day is all I need....  NOT every hour.. !!!

some nights I take on extra spoon, but then I take smaller spoons the next day..

what is interesting... when I do the oil thing I have no need for extras, on days when I do not then I eat extras.. and larger lunch or dinner portions..

thing is important to understand.. it can work as no calories, or satisfying calories... or as adding calories... so whatever you wish to achieve, just so long as it is what you wish for...

I think you can do any oil, so long as you wash it down, and do not inhale through the nose... as that triggers the mind..

as for the 'hours'... it is food for lets say breakfast, then at  snack time one or more hours later - take the oil, then again nothing for one hour and then - eat as you wish.. the same during the afternoon.  The oil goes

The best news ... I used to eat much more ...then I listened to the fats nay-sayers.. ...

and on BTD suffered constipation for nearly 2 decades..... there was one sentence in a early book that said low fat meat,... I saw that as a command, even if I read it 'wrong'..

I am now enjoying my oil so that I actually also enjoy life.  --- ***** A's may not have the same experience see below, but no doubt we O's can use the fats. --

I am now going a little to often yet I am astounded that my belly is actually going down, feeling as if I am digesting and letting go, where before I was digesting and holding on and on and on..

I am thrilled with your post above..

I have a new thing to 'report'.. (I love decaf -all coffee flavor- but for yesterday and today, I have no desire for any... I am actually looking for lime water.. might be that my body needs something and finds it in 'WATER' I never drink much, and in the lime juice.... and can absorb it now??

I am listening, and drinking 'other' things.  I certainly do not 'need' caffeine to go any more.  haha.

****** for A's there might be another answer in the Shangri-la diet aspects that help in losing weight... read up on it.. I know little about it but A friend tried it and it worked for her..   (It worked as a bridge for her, until she could convert little by little to oil, which she now can use more of. She used to eat at midnight.. she no longer has to... nice. )
