I'm sure I have mentioned this before - so apologies if I am repeating myself.  Is regiannito the same as parmesan?  I get parmesan as a diamond but here regiannito is easier to get hold of.  Anybody know for sure?

It is hard to know what you have in Chile.

I would use the same rating.

Elsewhere we cannot use the term Reggiano, because the term means Parmesan Cheese made in a particular area of Italy.  Has a distinctive flavor.

The term "Reggiano" has a protected status based on origin of the cheese.

I cannot tell if you have cheese imported from Italy or whether Chile is ignoring the protected status of the term and marketing a local produced cheese claiming it is from some place it is not.  

In any case it is type of Parmesan cheese and we have no evidence that it should be rated differently than Parmesan cheese made elsewhere or in different styles.
