I was wondering if someone could help me with a question I have about my Swami.

Under the heading of DAIRY,  cow's milk is an avoid, however, Mozzarella, Paneer, & Ricotta cheese are superfoods.  In Neutrals are farmer & feta cheese, sour cream & yogurt.  

Under the heading of CARBODYDRATES, wheat is an avoid, but in Superfoods, there is Essene Manna bread which contains wheat.

Under VEGETABLE PROTEINS, Tofu in an avoid, but in BEVERAGES, soy milk is a neutral.  Again under VEGGIE PROTEINS almonds & almond cheese is a neutral, but under BEVERAGES, it is black dot on the avoid list.  

There are several other "discrepancies"? in my Swami report.  I just updated it a couple of days ago.

Is this an error?  How does it work?  I'm trying to follow the Swami as strictly as I can, but am afraid I might be making a mistake... ??)

A chicken is a mature form of an egg, yet we expect that they might have different ratings.

Manna bread is sprouted wheat, which you could view as a more mature form if it helps. The sprouting removes lectins.

Trust the ratings. Sometimes the reasons may not be obvious, but there are very good reasons.

dairy in the form of cheese goes through different stages of fermenting....
depending on GT will the different forms of cheese get the rating according to your
variables and health issues

Food processing changes the way our bodies use the food. All foods contain nutrients as well as toxins; we vary in how much we need each of those nutrients, as well as how toxic those toxins are for each of us personally.

When soybeans are made into tofu, some parts are filtered out while other parts are concentrated. Sometimes "good for you" parts are filtered out, making the end result less healthy. Other times, "bad for you" parts get filtered out, making the end product more healthy. This varies from food to food as well as from person to person.

In your case, there's something in almonds that's filtered out when it's made into almond milk, making almond milk much less healthy for you than whole almonds or almond cheese. But the opposite is true for soy- the concentrated tofu is bad for you while the whole soymilk is fine.

It's very  common for people to not tolerate milk yet get a variety of cheeses that are neutral or better. All your allowable dairy products are either fermented or have some of the whey  filtered out of them- and all are lower in lactose than whole milk.

These are not mistakes. These are examples of just how complex the SWAMI software is.

Yes, Ruthie, good explanation.  Lloyd, too!

My favorite aspect of SWAMI is its ability to differentiate among dairy products.  I, too, need to avoid cow's milk and nearly every cheese except mozzarella, and my experience with dairy mostly validates its recommendation.  I depend a lot on mozzarella cheese, which allows me to scrape off and eat the topping of a good-quality cheese pizza in an emergency. ;)

I would be careful with soy milk and almond milk.  It's still important to check the ingredients of an allowed food for the presence of "avoids" such as, perhaps, carrageenan, canola oil, guar gum, etc.  In other words, if the soy milk that you're considering contains carrageenan, and carrageenan is an avoid, then the soy milk should be considered an avoid.  Tip: I found that Westsoy makes an unflavored soy milk that's basically just soy beans and water and perhaps some sea salt, IIRC.

There's also something called "string cheese" that mimics mozzarella, but it's made slightly differently and might be an avoid for you.  I think string cheese is listed separately from mozz. in SWAMI.

Thank you all.  That helps me alot.  Your explanations all make sense.  I am following Swami to the T.  But wanted to make sure.

And it is challenging to buy some beneficial or neutral products, precisely because they have avoids in them.  I am finding alot of these products with maybe one ingredient that is an avoid.  For example veggie cheese w/ Casein in the ingredients.  So I don't buy it.  

Yesterday I do think I bought a good soy milk brand:  Organic EdenSoy.  The ingredients listed are reverse osmosis purified water and organic soybeans.

Learning as I go.  Thank you all for your feedback.   :)

I have little problem too. I'm gatherer and at list best avoided there is Pork, Bacon. So, I must avoid all pork or only bacon??? THX

Pork is poison.  I think now having been eating this way for a while now, and possibly now that I'm older, I can really sense that I'm poisoning my body as I'm eating it.  One time, I literally had to stop and pray and ask God not to let me die at that moment as I was really feeling like a heart attack was coming.  It was pretty scary.
