BTD Forums / SWAMI Xpress / Food Ratings

Are the TYPEbase food values updated along with changing Swami recommendations? I'm curious as to whether new swami input -vs- new data might determine the slide from one column to another. Is there a "time frame" parameter for certain foods, suggesting that once a certain period of healing occured, a food like egg yolks would be de-emphasized?
I ask this because on the BTD for my first year, certain foods were black dot (or maybe even avoids), and then became bennies for me when I moved on to Swami. As if what would ordinarily be forbidden for my blood type, on balance, had more healing effects for my specific medical conditions as revealed in Swami. At a certain point of presumed healing though, those foods would be shifted back down.

Averno, I wish I knew the answer to your questions too. I just had to do a complete overhaul of my diet yesterday, and my head is spinning. For instance, blueberry juice is a superfood and blueberries are a neutral. If it were the other way around I could understand it!

I
think that Typebase values are to be followed when following a straight Blood Type Diet ONLY! They don't change.
What changes when you get SWAMI is that all of the epigenetic information from your measurements and the family history are used to calculate a specific diet for you. Due to the epigenetic inputs, some of the negative effects from foods based only on the blood type gene are overridden by other genes or the "settings" from the in-utero period...

The TypeBase values are for the straight Blood Type Diet. All you need to know is your blood type and you can get started. If you also know your secretor status (which is NOT the same as Rh status) then you can refine things even further- otherwise, it's generally safe to start with the secretor food list.
Once you get SWAMI, you have a diet just for you. Everybody will have different results when SWAMI is run, because it accounts for many individual factors. TypeBase can't be updated to reflect these changes because they're different for every individual, and there's only one TypeBase! My daughter's SWAMI has different recommendations than mine has.
However, you can save your SWAMI report in a PDF file and view it on your computer, iphone, etc, as well as having the option of printing it out so you can view it in a book format- I put mine in a binder.

I think we would have to volunteer to write that portion of the program, or something, Averno.

That's like tomatoes for me. They used to be a Diamond, then they were overhauled to only fresh juice being a neutral, and the tomato itself being an avoid. What a waste of food; only to be thrown to the chickens, or something.

OK, these answers confirm my knowledge of how the BTD and Swami differ, but the inference then is that certain foods change columns because of new data about that particular food. The only other possibility for this to occur would be if Swami input was changed. If no swami input data were changed, then the food data was changed.
I would suspect accidental Swami data changes unless it can be confirmed that food values in Swami do in fact change periodically due to evolving research. Sounds reasonable enough.

Seraffa, I had tomatoes on SWAMI, then I didn't have tomatoes, then I had them again, now I have them as a neutral. They are like poison to me. There is no way that I can eat them. What's with the switching around anyway? Beats me. Sweet potatoes were super duper for me, now they are a neutral. Anyone who has read my posts knows that I eat sweet potatoes every single day and thrive on them! I refuse to give them up! I WILL eat less bananas that were a super food but are now a neutral. I can deal with that. I'm having to take gluten pills every time I eat any kind of grain, including rice, but there is an abundance of that stuff on my super food list. I'm sick of foods hurting my stomach nearly all of my life, and that has a lot to do with what I eat now. If something makes my stomach hurt, I am not going to eat much of it. I can gobble up mixed green salads with cucumbers (another neutral), carrots, etc., by the quart and have no problem whatsoever.
So I gather from this that there is nothing wrong with my digestive tract. I don't have any problem digesting turkey, fish or lamb. Beans drive me crazy and make me feel as if they are taking something out of my system instead of adding anything. I read something about this somewhere a while back but can't find it again. I know they are apt to deprive us of iron and calcium. I can't deal with the way these things make me feel. Not very often anyway. I have a positive love/hate relationship with beans.
Another thing that is strange to me is that "string" beans are now a neutral for me. What on earth could be wrong with a "string" bean?! The other beans are like eating something straight out of the "bad place" and string beans seem as innocent as a lamb! I must say I am totally befuddled AGAIN! If I didn't feel so good, it is hard to say what I might be saying! ;D And I've been eating all these things that are supposed to be neutral!
Dr. D. needs to 'splain at least a little bit about the common foods that he has written volumes about their virtues, and all of a sudden they have become suspects at a murder trial!!! Well, I'm doing my part in testifying for them at this point!(wiseman) State your case loud and clear, you prosecutors!!
