BTD Forums  /  SWAMI Xpress  /  New to SWAMI - 2 questions

Just starting out with SWAMI.  I am a Teacher A+ blood type.

I have updated my avatar to show A but can't find any other options to add Teacher etc.  It is only showing Base Gallery.  Should I have more options?  How to I find them?

Also, with the portions for Teacher carbs does half a cup of grains etc. mean dry grains or after they are cooked?  Hoping it means dry not after they are cooked as that doesn't seem enough  :)

Cheers
Christina

I always assumed that all the portion sizes were for raw. This means that 1/3 cup of frozen spinach may count as "a whole cup of greens" since it takes 1 cup of raw spinach to make 1/3 cup of cooked. This also means that 1/4 cup of  brown rice cooks up to 1/2 cup (or more, if I make it very mushy that day) by the time I eat it.

For the words next to my name, it's not under the "avatar" tab of the member center. It's under "profile information" and then "personal message."

The "winter: hidden potential" and "white belt" is board-generated, and changes when you have a certain number of posts. That's why mine is blue with red tips and says "Kyosha Nim" (whatever that means).

Welcome Christina!
Always good to see another teacher! ;)
We were all new at some point and I remember asking many questions, so, no worries!
I follow the portion sizes the same as Ruthie. 8)

Thanks cajun  :)  I suspected I was a Teacher even before I did the measurements.  I love nature and yoga and just want everyone to get along  ::)

Ha Ha..yes, Christina, you do fit the description! ;) ;D

As I age, I really am relishing the times I can enjoy a sunny, warm peaceful day outdoors with my dogs; or be the only one home long enough to do a yoga practice without noise or interruption; and when there is loud/violent TV or anyone yelling (even though I grew up in/with my loud family..we just had "discussions" :P ;D) I get irritated and look for a way out! ;) 8)
I think Dr. D described the A traits, especially teacher traits, perfectly! ;)
When I ordered my first supplements from NAP, they sent me the four BTD brochures/literature. As soon as I read the first paragraph about A's I thought he wrote it about me!!! ;D

Welcome Christie,

I am also an A 42% Teacher. I have to say though that I am an almost even mix of Warrior and Teacher, tall with a long head and face.

Good for you that you want to know exactly how to measure portions of food. I personally don't bother to pay that close attention, but that's just me. Maybe it's because most of my time and energy is busy serving my family and making sure they're getting fed the right diet. I'm the only A in my family of 6 and making sure my kids are getting enough of the right foods to eat without blowing our budget is a huge priority of mine.

That fits me, as well, but I am most definitely a Warrior. ;)

When I read the Explorer description I knew Dr.D was describing me. I for sure have my quirks. Don't do well with anesthesia, I will sleep all day after a surgical procedure.
