As some of you may remember, I am thinking the Explorer diet may be better for me, given some of my genetic traits and characteristics.  I moved recently and think that my GTD book is in a box.  I read on one of the recent threads that Explorers have small heads, which is new info to me and would certainly make me more Explorer than Hunter.

I was hoping that folks could chime in here and list some of the lesser known, or for that matter, better well-known characteristics of Explorers and how those traits differ from Hunters.  Please feel free to add whatever you want, regardless of how insignificant it might seem.

I would also love to hear from people who thought they were Hunters but switched to the Explorer diet and have seen improvement (I know Jesi has a thread going right now) . . .

Finally, I would love to hear about the differences in the Hunter vs. Explorer diets.

As I recall you have already run SWAMI Xpress as an Explorer. You may want to do that again. This will not only give you a diet plan for an Explorer, but also a listing of traits for Explorers and how your data compares with those traits.

Good idea - BUT - all my stuff is in boxes because we moved and are renting a house until we move into our permanent house, so I am looking for some input.  Maybe I should just call CT and get my SWAMI user name and password?

However, what I am really interested in learning is the more obscure traits of Explorer.

What kind of changes are you looking for, for diet to provide? You certainly look healthy.

I have high blood pressure despite not being overweight and I need to loose a few pounds that I gained this past year while falling off the wagon.

Mostly, however, I am trying to beat my severe family history of heart disease.  I am the youngest (by a lot) of four siblings and the only one who has not had bypass surgery.  Since my move ( which was exhausting, both physically and mentally) and since allowing wheat back into my diet, I have had pains in my hands, which I am attributing to the beginnings of arthritis.  I need to get off the wheat to see if the pain goes away.

Wheat is the number one avoid for Type O...

It sounds like you are an explorer (looks would make me guess so as well). Do you take fish oil? That might help blood pressure. Also consider Methyl B12 for cardio-health. Keeping detoxed can help keep the cholesterol down for Explorers.

Dr. D doesn't talk about it but Explorers and heart issues totally common. The issue is that detoxing and blood building is what cures it, not any sort of regular cardio concepts.

I take 1-2 TBLS of flax oil daily(diamond); I do have olive oil as a diamond as well but have trouble digesting it whereas flax oil does not do that. I take it just before I go to bed and no problems if I haven't had during the day.

It is a great inflammation buster and great for our skin, and for the females, awesome for breast and uterine health. I believe it is good for prostate health as well.

Another bonus is that this healthy fat helps to shed weight! I get the same feeling of overall goodness from flax oil as I do from eating my red meat portions ie lamb and beef.  :)

DoS, I am wondering why you say I look like an Explorer?  What does an Explorer look like?  This is exactly the type of info I am hoping to glean from this thread  :)  Thanks for the info on the Explorer cardio issues.  I had not heard that either.

I was flipping through channels yesterday and came across Dr. Oz.  His recipe for a daily liver cleanse is warm water with lemon and hot sauce.  Sure sounds easy enough and compliant, too!
