I can't think of a better gift! And for loved ones inclined to otherwise procrastinate (not you of course), the activity of Swami-izing may lead to some enjoyment, self knowledge and inclination to "give it a whorl".

New year's resolutions are coming....   :)

Lucky amyflood!
Am tempted to get it for my spouse, who is an  A, but who eats like an O and is struggling with health. He is just not ready yet.

prunella, i have one of those too. when he really "stuck" to the diet, he lost 20 lbs. i can control what is in the house, but not what he eats when away. frustrating!

Lola, have not seen the video, thanks for the link

thanks everybody, i've very excited!

EXCELLENT...CONGRATS, I got SWAMI as an advance Christmas present too,  Started it and I am SO much better I can scarcely believe it myself.  I know I am better because I went for an eye exam last Saturday and the doc was amazed as my eyesight had IMROVED, substantially she said, then 'HOW?'   I told her about the BTD/GTD and SWAMI, gave her the website to research as she would tell all her patients, even gave her a taste of my one remaining Unibar. she read the ingredients, tasted it and said, 'Wow, that;s great, where do you get these?'
Man, MS is a hard thing to come back from, but I am doing it.  I just want to be my almost 'disgustingly healthy' self again!
Enjoy SWAMI and have a Happy Christmas!
Regards,   Anna

Sometimes it is Ok to just do it even if they are not ready, it  will be information for you as you plan meals in the home and you might be surprised how much they read and pay attention once it is just for them.

I'm so glad to hear about how much you've improved Anna! How long have you been on SWAMI?

Andrea, ROFL!--in a friendly way. I really have little control over this. ;D

I do not plan meals for type A DH.  He cooks his own food--mostly meat-ish stuff. Recently, I have convinced him that grass fed beef is best. For years, he bought processed meats and "economy" foods. As we were raising our kids, I had many moments of biting my tongue to avoid arguing about which foods to give kids. I was a vegetarian, organic gardening mom. He was indulgent dad, super involved with kids but not understanding implications of processed foods. Also, we thought he was type O, so his carnivorous ways were not of concern.

Fast forward to 2012.  DH, age 65, has diverticulitis and probable thyroid concerns. He works only part time, although his job is not physically demanding. Allopathic doctors could not find cause of his fatigue, fevers and chills.
DH now follows recommendations of TCM naturopath, who endorses meat, but eliminates wheat and dairy from diet. He has started taking Dr.D's supplements. A real change for a guy who loves meat and pasta and thought the naturopath was a crackpot.

I will just keep endorsing swami.

Can you feed him rice pasta with turkey meatballs? Or convince him to  cook such for himself?

I got my SWAMI! I have input my info and had it calculate my genotype. Shockingly (sort of), I was calaculated as a Gatherer! When i used the book's advanced calculator, i thought for sure i was going to type as a gatherer and was shocked when it typed me as a hunter. So, i'm shocked that i am now typing as a gatherer, but not really. It makes more sense to me now. There are a few foods i lost and a few things that got added. Just happy i got it!

Amy - you will love your SWAMI and now you can show that you are a Gatherer under your name.

Ha! I didn't think that one out! Just because I like cottage cheese does not mean that the whole world loves it.  ;D

The only thing better is going to the Clinic in Bridgeport to see Dr. D himself!

Yay, Amy! :D Enjoy!
Congrats to Anna, also! :)
Prunella,
My DH is an O hunter and used to make fun of my "BTD,GTD,Swami" way of eating..until one day his stomach bothered him from something he ate..I gave him an O deflect that I had purchased for my O son. Well, it was a miracle! Now he eats what I cook for him but I know he cheats a little when gone for the day...but not alot...and he doesn't make fun anymore! ;) The funny thing is...my family didn't even notice when I switched to quinoa pasta or baked with brown rice flour and cook with rice or almond milk! ;D
congrats to Ligia, also! What part of California, Ligia? There are a few of us "teachers" in the south. :)

@ ruthegirl & cajun...
Have not been here for a few weeks due computer problems..I got the SWAMI and started 20 October and am just getting better and better DAILY it seems.
I am now concentrating on the Geno-Harmonic combinations -on page 30-31 of my report - and my brain/system notices the difference practically daily, plus the items are so easy to get, like pecans, colby cheese, green tea or carob, BS molasses, sardines...Sticking otherwise to the SWAMI superfoods or even Neutrals.  e.g. dinner tonight was ground beef (N, had run out of ground turkey, but have an O+ Hunter husband) with onions & celery & green peas in a no-tomato pasta sauce (carrots, beets, sea salt & spices) with brown rice pasta spirals with shredded cheese on top.  And I had a Unibar for dessert as the banana bread had finished..It's 1 Day At A Time here but I am very hopeful of a complete recovery.
Have told my sister, insulin diabetic, about the BTD, GTD and SWAMI, and going gluten free, listed the Gatherer Superfoods, which she likes, she's trying them and says she feels HOPE now.  And, by the way, both hubby & me lost 35lbs each and are maintaining.  Think this is more than I've eaten in my entire life!
A very Happy New Year to you!
Regards,   Anna

This is all wonderful.  I'm so glad you are seeing so much benefit from SWAMI.  I wish you much continued success with the MS recovery.

Dear ABjoe,
Happy New Year!  Thank you, I hope to get rid of this MS too.  Read that it could have been brewing 20 years, hope it doesn't take that long to get rid of it!
I've a joke..the Best Man at our wedding phoned late on 31DEC to wish us Happy New Year and said he had read up on gluten and what it does to a body  (I had initially told him about gluten) and had gone gluten-free at 220 and was now 183lbs!)  Mind you, he's had an operation about a month ago so I bet that's some of his weight loss, but going gluten free can't hurt (he's O+).  The amusing part was, he phoned again yesterday morning and asked if potato bread was ok to eat!  I had to report through my husband that it really wasn't!  But have since emailed him the link so he can research on his own.  And my son said that he has noticed the difference in me-better- from a year ago.  So lots of prayers, and fingers crossed.
Regards,   Anna
