My colleague is having horrible pain from gout. I found out he's a type B and already told him to get the chicken (which he eats daily) out of his diet. Also increase the veggies and lower the carbs.

What else can he do? The doctor has him on prednisone at this moment because nothing else seems to help against the pain.

I was thinking perhaps the anti-inflammation protocol? One product mentioned, cats claw, I am sure he can get here.

Any other suggestions?

My herbal therapeutics class recommends Devil's Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens) for pain and inflammation, Boswellia serrata for anti-inflammatory actions and modulating the immune system, nettle leaf (Urtica dioica folia) for inflammation and to help remove uric acid from the system. Licorice and rehmannia can be useful in an acute attack. There are others, of course, but these are just a few suggestions.

I haven't matched these with blood group B. It just happened that I had my folder in front of me when I read your post.

Start with the full BTD or GTD diet. Wheat is inflamatory for B's and especially for nonsecretors in the BTD. In the GTD wheat is a no no for all B's. Corn is another big avoid for all B's.
