BTD Forums  /  Supp Right For Your Type  /  Fermented Soy ok for O+nonnie
Posted by: Golfzilla, Tuesday, October 30, 2012, 5:26pm
I have recently become aware of a small amount (1mg) of fermented soy in various supplementation formulas. As an O+nonnie my brother the Swami says no soybeans or soybean oil.

My research has concluded it is soy contains allergens, which are not good for GZ. However my research also concludes these allergens are destroyed by the fermintation process. Consequently my question is if this is in fact as I understand it to be is it ok for GZ to consume fermented soy especially in these small amounts..?

Tofu is not fermented, they do now sell tofu that is made from sprouted soybeans, but this is not a fermentation process. The ones that Lloyd mentions, they are fermented. I get these as a black dot and have greatly enjoyed natto and tempeh in the past. And if had to, on occasion would consume these.  :)

No, the soy isn't  good for you. Ideally, you'd stay away from them in all forms.

However, I'm not sure what supplements you're taking, how much you need those supplements, and whether or not a soy-free formula is available. If you REALLY need a supplement to stay healthy, the benefits of the supplement may outweigh the negatives of the soy.

You'd need to assess each supplement individually. You may decide to change some, discontinue some altogether, but keep taking another.

Just wanted to share this formula I'm using and like a lot......It's fermented soy protein powder.
Tastes really good too!
