Can someone please explain this.  Dr. D says for type A to eat a diet low in phenylalanine....I get the
no meats......but fish is high in phenylalanine...and so is dairy which Teachers can eat.

Is this saying that some A genotypes have higher IAP than others? Or is this accounted for by
portion control and total intake of phenylalanine foods?  I guess I'm wondering why a diet
like the basic A diet wouldn't be better for As with risk factors like cardiovascular disease and
cancer.

"Later studies showed that type A not only secreted almost no alkaline phosphatase in their intestines, but whatever little they did secrete was in and of itself inactivated by the presence of their own A antigen. [4]

Most foods have some qualities that are desirable and others that are not. SWAMI balances the values of different components of the food with the needs of a particular  individual in making food recommendations. Usually it is multiple factors that determine if a food is recommended or not for a particular individual.



I am a type a teacher for instance and when SWAMI looked at dairy products it eliminated nearly all of them from my diet.  It did not indicate how much of the recommendation against dairy was due to phenylalanine and how much was due to other factors, but I am confident phenylalanine was considered among other factors.

I am a type A Swami Teacher. I am very new to Geno Type diet and started following Swami diet very closely. So this subject is very much interest.

I like to see more input from other people. Thank you.

Me too.....with a professional SWAMI I am left with only manchego, ghee and
yogurt as beneficial...none are diamonds......about 5 neutral cheeses and remainder are black dots.

I would assume that since some Type A's get more meat, cheeses, and fats, that there are differences - including digestive components and that this can and will affect what the ideal diet is per individual.

Dr. D. knows about all of these parameters and is utilizing the best combination for each person's specific input traits when they use SWAMI...  Remember the list of some 200 parameters that are used in the calculations probably makes for some really interesting calculations...

Future study results can always be added into the algorithms used by SWAMI to bring the diet closer to ideal, as necessary.

I appreciate all your inputs. I am more comfortable now trusting in Dr. D and stay with Swami diet. Thank you.
